I was only able to muddle my way.to comment #140 before I thought my head would explode due to snschick and anti-atheist. And I'm a BELIEVER. You guys make us look like a bunch of knuckle dragging, crayon eating, inbred, lunatics! Snschick- there's no way your illiterate, uneducated ass is a nurse, CNA maybe but not a nurse. Also, supernovas "or whatever they call them" are real. Just bc you're a believer does not mean science is not relevant. You don't care about science? That's cool, but don't be all butt hurt when we ALL think you're an idiot. Anti-Atheist-you are an insult to Christianity. Jesus spent time with the lowest of the low and was never mean, derogatory, or ill mannered with them. He was kind to the prostitute at the well, he prevented the crowd from droning the adulteress, and he spent time in the leper colonies. I can guaran-freakin-tee you that he wouldn't have told someone they weren't worthy of a job bc they were not followers of his. He would have attempted to witness to them bc he came for THEM TOO, not just you. If they refused to believe he would have still loved them as YOU should bc we ALL fall short.

Yes, atheists are hired as LEO's and should never be turned down for employment due to their religious beliefs or non-beliefs. Saying they can't be cops is as dumb as me saying I would never go to a lesbian doctor.

Now, to you atheists on here, I respect the amount of work you've put into your research and I accept that science is a wonderous and never ending supply of enlightenment. However, some of us accept both creationism and science hand in hand. If you don't agree with me, that's fine and you're entitled to your opinion just as I am. Unfortunately, the uneducated from both sides strive to make us all look less intelligent to the opposing team, and my team is leading that race.:/

I'm glad you are getting a sense of what it is like to be an atheist. We are hated more than convicted rapists (many polls) yet you do not see us attacking Christians. We do however, attack ridiculous beliefs especially when they affect our lives. If Christians or Muslims would keep their religions to themselves instead of, for example, flying planes into office blocks, you would not hear a word from atheists. All we have is our free speech and even that is being whittled away in Europe.

As a believer, obviously we don't see eye to eye but I respect the fact that I can't choose for you. The same principle applies to homosexuals, Muslims, and folks who believe in unicorns. Just bc I don't agree doesn't give me the right to degrade. These "Christians" on here are NOT true examples of the faith, just as the leaders of the Crusades were not. I feel the need to apologize for them although it would be pointless. My hope is that if/when someone chooses to downplay my belief, their only argument against me will be that I believe in what I cannot prove, not that I'm mean, spiteful, derogatory, or insulting. These folks wouldn't know a friendly, intellectual debate if it smacked 'em where the sun don't shine.

very good. i agree but our atheist friends do not believe in faith which i also consider to be trust. you cant see, feel, taste or smell trust but it exists to us just as faith does. both are not objects and cant be seen or proven so they are fairy tales to the other side.

they really do play the victim card like our pledge, and our money with god on it and churches being tax exempt at there expense.

cry babies. no one is out to get them.

Trust and faith are not the same whatsoever. Trust is a human level of acceptance based on a persons subjective substance. It CAN be proven. It is a binding agreement and societal aspect between humans, not a high power.

And to add, faith can also be proven; a high power however, cannot.

These are human elements.

You evidently do not agree because you are still running them down and shoving your opinion in their ear. Jesus never forced the issue because he knows that it is a personal choice and no amount of badgering will alter someone's belief. You've made your point, spoken your piece, and now you're being redundant, judgemental, and insulting. Christianity is based on faith and while I'm thrilled that you have made that choice, it is not the ONLY choice and you can't force someone to pick Door #1 when they want Door #2. That "Love your neighbor as yourself" edict doesn't just apply to the white, middle class, church going folk you see on Sunday.

You're right, it won't because he is determined that I am wrong and he is right. There is nothing I can do about that and nothing you can do about that. Calling him stupid and telling him he "refuses to see the truth" as we see it does nothing but make believers appear more cultish. I'm sorry if I come across as weak or too mild mannered but I happen to be VERY stubborn, hard headed, opinionated, and sometimes a bitch so I know that beating someone over the head with something makes them want to flip you the bird and do the opposite of what you say out of spite, bc that's what I'd do. It annoys me that people drive non-believers farther away by being the poster child for intolerance and bigotry. If someone does not want to accept what is offered, walk away knowing you did what you could. Don't come back at them with a burning cross and a guillitine.

This is one thing I've been trying to get across, so few Christians on here actually follow the words and actions of Jesus Christ, so its really hard to even talk to somebody who is hell bent on personal beliefs, whether those beliefs are right or not.
