DOES ANY ONE KNOW IF LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES HAVE A RULE OR BAN AGAINST HIRING ATHEISTS. IT WOULD SEEM THEY SHOULD BECAUSE I CAN ENVISION OTHER OFFICERS BEING UNCOMFORTABLE AROUND THEM AND NOT TRUSTING THEM IN A SITUATION THAT MAY INVOLVE COVER MY BACK.
IT WOULD ALSO SEEM THAT AN ATHEIST OFFICER COULD NOT DEAL WITH MANY OF THE CRISIS SITUATIONS THEY ENCOUNTER. FOR EXAMPLE. THERE IS A VERY BAD AUTO ACCIDENT AND SEVERAL PEOPLE INJURED BADLY ONE OF WHOM IS NEAR DEATH.
HOW WOULD THIS OFFICER RESPOND IF SOMEONE ASKED HIM TO PRAY WITH US.
LEGITIMATE QUESTIONS. LETS HAVE SOME COMMENTS

I'm sure the officer would handle the near death it with respect no matter what he believes or doesn't believe in.

Also I think I would rather have someone covering my back that doesn't believe that I will go some place better if i die over someone that thinks that if I die I will be in a better place so no need to do that great of a
job protecting my life

I dont know about the big cities but the sheriff I work for would not. He is a good christian man and also plays and sings in a gospel quartet.

If I was making the decision and knew beforehand I would not hire them. I think it would cause moral problems with the other officers in the department as well as problems with the public.

The job of law enforcement should be to protect and serve, not waste time thinking about mythology. I laughed at moral problems. Do tell what is immoral about not believing in fairy tales and being moral for its own sake?

In the south especially a place like Jackson majority rules and that majority us Christian. it is however against the law to inquire about someones religion when dealing with employment. I personally would prefer cops i saw at church on Sunday in hopes that should the occasion arrive that they could pray with a dying individual and be sincere.

If I find out that any government agency even asks any perspective employee about religion I will file a federal lawsuit. It is illegal for a reason. I don't want someone that does not believe in science investigating crimes. Period.

Besides Christianity was created to make the dumber people fear something for not behaving properly. If you check the IQ of a Christian versus an atheist, the atheist is always smarter... by alot. For example the average IQ of the whole state of TN is below 90 with almost 65 of TN residents being below 70. My IQ is 168 and my girlfriends is 171. This is why we are moving away from this stupid shit. Btw neither one of us were born here... glad we didn't get some of that holy water... I mean stupidity water...rotflmfao

I think I may hire someone to wear a wire and catch some of this shit... I am not a lawyer but I know the rules of evidence, there are ways to record someone and have it used in court as evidence... As long as you 'notify' them they are being recorded. Can be a 1 inch sticker on the side of a baseball hat... as long as it is clearly visible... the entire time.. photographed for proof... try to fight it...lol I did this to a female business owner that openly refused to hire men. She Faught it and lost...lol. lost her business too..bible thumper got thumped...lol

Oh and go ahead and point out the spelling error ( if you can find it) the auto correct on my tablet got me... do you know what a tablet is? How about carbon? No? Its what you are made of... you would know this if a corrupt government didn't take science out of the schools here...

You are incorrect. In the state of Tennessee, we have a single party exception when it comes to recording. You can record someone without them knowing as long as you're a party of that conversation and it doesn't violate reasonable expectation of privacy rules. The legality depends on a lot of different circumstances.

If you're so "smart", why didn't you have the sense to research how "dumb" we all are here before having moved here? Having done so would have saved you and your genius of a "girlfriend" from moving here. Besides, what kind of high IQ job did you move here to work? You should be working in medical research or perhaps in Silicon Valley.....rotflmfao

That's why there are more Christian people in prisons, and more Atheists are scientists. This by the way is the dumbest post I have ever read. Who cares what anybody believes? Mind your own...

Alright I gotta couple questions for you. First, why would a professional protector of the law be "uncomfortable" around an atheists? Seems like a fault on hos part, as well as the not trusting is partner, if there is an officer that doesnt trust a partner due to being an atheist, he would have to leave the force immediately, because I don't want armed officers thinking like that.

And about praying, you know we don't burst into flames when atheists pray right? I used to work with a group of devout Christians that insisted on a group prayer before every shift.

And gues what, I took whoever long it took to prey with them.

So if the situation arose, I would see no reason why an atheist would not comfort a victim and pray with them. Especially since they know before hand what the job entails.

It is not the officer's duty to pray with anyone. In fact, it would probably be improper for any government official or employee to pray with a member of the public during the performance of their duties. For the record, most cops are not religious. Not an opinion here, just stating a fact of reality.

tell you what deputy you do need to move. believe me the overall numbers work agist you. there are more christians so there will be more with higher iq than atheists.

as for you little covert operation that sounds about like the type of work you do.

i am the prior sheriff of a county in this area. I would have never hired a non believing prick and i would do so in a manner that a snake like you would have never known it.
