Why is it very sad? Andy is a fine man and WJBC is a fine and God worshiping church.

Someone needs to learn to spell Andy's last name instead of bash a good man and a good church. FYI, I'm not a member of WJBC.

God is at work at West Jackson. Andy will be a great pastor and I am excited about him coming. But it's not about a man, it's all about God. He is at work in His people there. Church is not a place where we go to be entertained by a speaker or some drums and music its a place to come and hear Andy or any preacher or teacher equip God's people to go out into the community and world to spread His gospel. Come and visit and get plugged into what's happening. It's going to be an awesome experience.

If it's gonna sink itself them why is attendance up so much since he's been announced the new preacher?

Wow Nelly, its not even been a month. You all had the same honeymoon effect with the last 3-4 pastors. Do not fret, the idiots who ran the church in the ground are still alive and well. I will give them till August before all the micro manage bullshit begins. This one is young enough and making the most he has ever made so he will stay a little while longer than most. There is a REASON it took you over a year to get a pastor, it is common knowledge in sbc this church can be radioactive because of several powerful members.

...the things Ive seen during their Upwards basketball program this tear, what a joke. I've never seen so many bass-ackwards folks trying to act pious & superior. It's just another way for them to make money.

I am a member, and I am so excited about Andy being the new pastor! I will say he is not going to solve all problems just by being there. People have to be right with God on a personal level, and follow the pastor as he follows the Lord.

I agree you just better tell that to the ones who actually have ran WJBC into the ground so to speak.

If you have went to church there more than a few years then you know who they are. I don't feel it is necessary to put their names out here. However, I do smile at your pompus attitude........

Maybe just maybe Andy can bring some new or oid members back and actually meet the ever shrinking budget goal.

It's official. Our new pastor's first budget cuts missionary support from 10% to 8%. A sad day for our church.

When Dr. Tidwell was here he had no trouble doing funerals, leading mission trips, preaching Sunday morning, night, and Wednesday night. Even Dr. Lang was here for Wednesday night prayer meeting. Andy left us all summer on Wednesday nights so he could spend time at his home with the college kids.
He doesn't care for us golden agers. We had more members when Dr. Tidwell was here and he was always there for us!

I'm beginning to thing these young preachers are just lazy. More staff, more staff, that's all they want.

They talk about growth. Nearly every week Dr. Tidwell had someone come down the isle that he led to the Lord on a Grow visit. I remember it well. When is the last time Andy led someone to the Lord? If you want us to do it, lead us! Dr. Tidwell was a leader!

Yes, it was in Florida right after he moved from WJBC to a new church down there! He had to leave and low and behold, Dockery found a spot for him at Union!

I don't normally get involved in these church discussions because, frankly, I don't care.

However, I searched around the internet for a few seconds and quickly found that the DUI charge against Mr. Tidwell was dropped by the State of Florida after a urinalysis revealed that he had NO drugs or alcohol in his system when arrested. I think it's important that people do their own research when accusations are made on this site. Of course, most of you won't do that because you're stupid lemmings who believe everything anybody writes on here.

Here's a link to the Clearwater newspaper indicating the charges were dismissed and Mr. Tidwell was cleared of everything.

Look it up for yourselves next time, morons. Don't believe everything some redneck 'guest' from redneck Henderson writes.

I read the story. Sounds like he was under the influence if he is mixing drugs and driving. And I know for a fact that he charged members to do weddings and funerals, events in members lives that their pastor should not expect certain payment for doing!
