In Mississippi, doctor shopping is ignored
JACKSON, Miss. -- Mississippi has an Internet-based prescription drug monitoring program that officials say could halt most "doctor shopping" for narcotics, but more than two-thirds of physicians don't use it.

After reading the "full story" above, even though I do take Lortab 10 occasionally for lower back pain, the program sounds like a good deal. If Dr.'s would use it, it could help keep excess drugs off the streets and/or help those who are addicted to them. Yeah, I'm for it MS!

Including the ER doc.... another police activity for the overworked doctor

Overworked doctor? For what they make they can run a name through a database. THEY won't do it anyways. One of their assistance will.
