The "concerned" individual that posted this thread is defaming Mrs. Spence by creating and spreading lies about her through the internet, writing, in public, etc. "Concerned" is knowingly and purposefully attempting to destroy Mrs. Spence's reputation and inflict severe emotional distress upon her. Obviously, "Concerned" has not taken into account what she is doing is illegal. It is called Libel, Slander, Defamation and Intentional Infliction of Emotional Distress; and had "Concerned" listened in any of Mrs. Spence's classes "Concerned" would know all about it. Mrs. Spence is not a rascist. "Concerned", you are a bitter and vicious human being that uses the race card as your golden ticket to achieve goals and accomplishments that you are unable to achieve th honest way. I am calling all Administration of Justice people to stand up against people like "Concerned" to keep the dishonest, corrupt criminals out of our noble field!

I put my name on this because I have no trouble in standing by what I am about to say. Why don't you? I have no problem with open discussion or the fact that you might not agree with a professor. However, I do have a problem with the disgusting and putrid statements you have made. The lies posted above about any form of racism on the part of this Professor are absolutely false. I believe in the equality of all human beings, and the value of democracy. I was taught these by this Prof. She never forced ideas down anyone's throats, nor did she ever spread vicious lies. She is a bold Professor who stands up for her students, and who encourages freedom of thought. Frankly, I think you should be ashamed. It is because of teachers like Prof. Spence that I am equipped to offer every human being the best I can give the world. That includes Americans, Canadians, Mexicans, Chinese, Japanese, Germans, Africans, and every possible shade of skin that drapes the frames of the human beings I will meet in my lifetime. I will give my all to a world that seeks hope and positive change. You are not it. Your words here... are lies. I can only believe that they stem from a place of revenge or resentment.

There is nothing more painful to me ... than to walk down the street and hear footsteps and start thinking about robbery, then look around and see somebody white and feel relieved.-- the Reverend Jesse Jackson, as quoted in US News, 3/10/96

Does this make me a racist for posting or him a racist for saying or is it a social fact due to crime...it is sad that that someone would resort to defamation by publishing on mainstream media sources. And by using a Washington forum is it your attention to make it on the today show or 60 minutes. is your search for 15 min of fame worth it?

So are you saying that the other 20 something people on here are racist and liars? That's a pretty bold statement for someone as outnumbered as you. Through reading this forum I have come to realize that only YOU have issues with this professor. You have offended me and a good many of Mrs. Spence's students. If anyone should be asking forgiveness it is you. You are not telling the truth. You ask people to post their experiences about this professor then again miraculously when you see or read rather something that offends you that person is a racist. This has been nothing but a showing or your ignorance and a pitiful cry for attention... Since you are being spiritual all of a sudden,(even though the bible states in black and white to turn the other cheek and love thy neighbor as I have first loved you and several other scriptures about hate, anger, jealousy, and lies) we will all have to answer to a higher power. Judge not least you be judged, this Log, I'm afraid, is in your eye.

Pamela is wrong and you know it and I have to wonder if a bunch of friends of hers got on this blog in an attempt to cover up what is obvious or is the blog being filled by closet racist who feel the same way and are silently cheering her on? Well get the facts straight and pray that Pam uses her educatíon for the good and not to spread her views of superiority.

What is she wrong for exactly? Teaching a class that ONE person took offense to? And again every person that posted has to be her friends and closet racists because you say so? I can assure you I am not a racist. And for you to get on here and call everyone who goes against you racist Including an entire school makes you sound more and more ignorant every second... Maybe you should face the facts and realize that more people are against you than for you for a reason. Maybe you have forgotten that generally in classes there is more than one person. An entire room full of people hears Mrs. Spence lecture everyday, yet, you are the only person with an issue... Kinda weird huh? I think you should do some soul searching. and while you are at it why don't you learn a new word... We are reaching the point of broken record here

A word of wisdom to you;-) Pamela Spence by stating her biased racist and comments in class made people of all color uncomfortable. Pamela and her opinions should be ran off of any campus and if she is allowed to continue to teach that is a sign of acceptance of a rude and racist remarks. Moreover telling the truth is not a crime and is not punishable in a court of law. Pamela is educated and is well aware of this fact she knows exactly what she said and is now sidetracking to get away from it. I sleep good at night how about you? I do not care what color she is the fact of the matter is Pamela Spence is a racist and she knows it.

Concerned, you state that she only said that the books say that to ceover her behind... It appears to me that you NEVER opened your book!!!!! As a criminal Justice major, I KNOW WHAT THE BOOKS SAY!!!!!!!! They state the statistics of ALL races!!!!!!! Mrs. Spence i guess was blasting her race when she read the statisics of white people or "crackers" as you probably say(since you have made it clear that YOU ARE THE RACIST ONE) but no you have been so blind during your "race card" action that you cant see that! You should embrace your race and not make it seem like you hate "white folk" you have proven that Mississippi College has taught you nothing! that you have clearly wasted your money for books because you obviously did not read them!!!! Go have fun blasting people if it makes you feel better. Oh and Catch up on your Bilbe reading because it states that no one on Earth is of power to judge another. Have a BLESSED DAY

It's funny when you say Pamela Spence is racist. She isnone of the teachers over the years that I have had at MC that shows no sign of racism. I think you need to get over yourself and stop making your own race look bad. By the way..... If you did not know, Pamela Spence is not caucasion, she is Hispanic. So why don't you get your facts straight and put your race card back in your probably empty wallet considering you are trying to just get money. She is by far not racist. Whoever posted this should be ashamed.

Wow concerned amongst your many talents you are also a mind reader??? Me next me next tell me what I'm thinking!! That I am a big racist and supporter of all hate? No sorry that's incorrect. Not as good as I thought =( that's dissapponting what I am thinking is that you obviously have some sort off a misunderstanding ( I say this because it's 20 against 1) and are spending wwwaaaayyyy to much of your time and energy on ruining this professors life... Why don't you put all this hate and anemosity to something positive instead of something negative... Well I guess that wouldn't be as fun as this though would it? And since telling the truth is not a crime why are you so insistant on letting "the public" know that she is a racist when in her classes she tells the truth... Blacks per capita commit more crime that's stats concerned not something she pulled out of a hat just to anger you I really feel you were very much misinformed by whomever told you she was a racist. Have you ever actually sat in one of her classes before you decided to put her head on a stick to rally the troops for your race rampage? If you have then clearly you were not listening to every word and took excerpts from what she said to turn it in to something it was not. Selective hearing is a real condition, I think there is even pills for it. But you know, as the old saying goes if you look for something hard enough you will find. You must have a helluva microscope.

If anyone is offended by these statistics of their race they should make a difference, unlike what you are doing! Pamela Spence did not write the books. Your school picked them! If you had opened your book you would know this. Also, the fact that you say you do not agree with the "blatant racist teaching school" then go to another school!! Its not hard to see from these posts that you are the problem! I believe you need soul searching and find another way to come off as a "political figure" for you race than blasting another person! Obama did not get his votes by hating on the opponent. Nor did any other president. IT is obvious anyone going into criminal justice is trying to make a difference and promote NON-HATE, you clearly should pick a new major! It wont be that hard seeing you did not even read your book. Stats are facts, thus if you cant handle that then you can possibly be one of the ignorant of your race (all races have these people) you are promoting hate and while doing this you are making yourself look bad and really showing your true colors; by that statement i am not talking about you ethnicity, i am talking about your heart. You are obviously a cold dark person that cant be happy until the lives of innocent, caring people are tainted. That is clearly what you are trying to do. You know i hope that the six o'clock news wants to speak with you over this matter because then you cant be a coward and you can show everyone the face of the person that took their life changing, caring, and personal mentor away.

Concerned:: if you knew how much hate you have started then you would stop posting these not only negative, but VERY VERY untrue thoughts of Mrs. Spence. You can not be serious... I guess you never listened in her classes, seeing that you have broken PLENTY of laws just by posting this. It is clear to me and everyone else that has commented back on this that this is SLANDER, do you know what that means? Just checking because we all know you did not read your text book. It is just sooo funny to me that you are fighting a losing battle. Even if your "race card" helps you break down the life of an innocent teacher you still lose( by this statement i mean in character). I feel i have to keep putting these side notes for you to understand. I am just going to hang up the phone on this one and leave you with this thought; has it ever occured to you that you Cant Understand Normal Thinking? a thought to ponder... Once again i will leave with a posistive note so you dont call me hateful and racist, HAVE A BLESSED DAY!

I am sitting in bed contemplating your selective hearing and I decided I would dissect your statements you put in ms spence's mouth and tell the public what was actually said in the victimology class which I was a part of I'll highlight the big differeces so you can keep up
your version: that black people mainly rent furniture and houses and dont report strange white people in their neighborhoods because they have nothing to steal.
What actually was said: that POOR people usually rent furniture and houses and that nobody says anything when a white person is in a black neighborhood but black people in a white neighborhood will be stopped and questioned we both know that is a fact that nothing to steal thing nice touch but didn't happen
your version: Mrs. Spence also said that where she is from whites played poker with
black people and when the blacks won they
were thrown in a well.
What actually happened: ms spence did make this statement because it is true blacks have had terrible things happen to them in the past but so have other races... Just because I say Jewish people were gassed, shot, starved, ect during the holocaust it does not mean I'm racist. It's once again facts.
Your version: Mrs. Spence said she does not have any democrats as friends and all the democrats she knows are black.
What actually happened: On ONE occasion Ms Spence jokingly said she was not friends with democrats because they argue about topics too much. ON A COMPLETELY SEPERATE OCCASION ON A SEPERATE DAY, ms spence said that prodominantly MOST democrats are black and white females.(we should call her sexist too!!!)
your version: Mrs. Spence also laughed and stated that she gets the balck students at Holmes Community College so mad that campus police had to escort her to her car
what actually happened: again you kind of told the truth... Ms spence did say she had to get escorted to her vehicle but there was no laughter. She had to get escorted (which she explained in class) because the black people at holmes didn't want to hear the truth anymore than you do and instead of making a difference made threats instead of blaming other people they got mad at her for reading stats (sound familiar? It should)
I feel much better now that people can read (not that I needed any help defending her as you can see by all the people you offended and the ones who felt strong enough to write
you back) that there are two sides to every story... Including this one. And just like every two sided story one is true and the other is
false. And unlike you I am not lying and trying to gain support by putting words in someones mouth, and to pull a "concerned" (hope you don't mind) and repeat myself over
and over and over I do not need to do any more clarifing because you can read these comments from these "closet racist" or in normal world concerned oh bad choice of words let's say worried students/readers and know that ms spence is a great professor and has more support than you ever will by handling this matter as poorly as you have. In closing if it is true that we sleep fine at night and I am sure you are sleeping like a baby right now... it is solely because People that do the things you do and say the things you say With their only purpose being to hurt another person and their family and their future cannot have a conscience. I will be praying for you concerned my prayers will be that you seek, peace instead of caios, forgiveness instead of slander, truth instead of falsehoods, and love instead of hate

You know what is also nice? The NAACP, BET televison, Miss BLACK America, among other things. I bet if we had a NAAWP, A WET television network, or a Miss WHITE America, people would be up in arms about it. Equality can only happen when people let go of words that promote separation. You usually don't hear white people saying they are Irish-American or English American but you hear Black people all the time trying to get the "African" American thing out. When we all stop seeing color and stop using words to describe our color and our attitude and our proudness, only then can we all be equal. We are all the same.
"If you prick us do we not bleed? If you tickle us do we not laugh? If you poison us do we not die? And if you wrong us, shall we not revenge?"
We are all the same, we're just in different packages.
While I agree with your last sentence, I have to comment on the regurgitated "What if we had a WET network/Miss White America" argument. You DO have a Miss White America, because until Vanessa Williams (Half-White by the way), no black woman stood a chance and had never been elected, so they came up with Miss Black America. You DO have a WET network, they're called ABC/CBS/NBC/FOX/CNN/HNN/MSNBC et.al, ad nauseam. No minority anchors (or even brunette females on FOX), no minority led primetime shows/sitcoms/latenights/newsc asts. NAAWP? Try the RNC, regardless of Michael Steele. And, having lived up north for 10 years before moving back to Mississippi, YOU DO have white people referring to themselves as Irish-American, Italian-American, Jewish American and Polish-American, they have their own sections of cities where there cultures are in the forefront. That is where African-American came from. Now, I missed that meeting where that was decided, and just call myself Black (actually I call myself a taxpaying AMERICAN), I couldn't even tell you when it was 'decided', but we should ALL be Americans first, regardless of descent.

My name is Sara and I had took one of her classes. I am proud to say my name. I am extremely anxious to learn what grade did "concerned" get on her papers and final grade in the class? And why did concern post it on a public forum instead of confronting Mrs. Spence in class, where if concerned was really offended, this whole dicussion should have started. Concerned, if you really thought she was racist, where are all her comments about black people stemmed from, do you think? Could it be that the Black people who are educated and intelligent don't make cowardly comments on posts? They actually say to the
person(s)-Hey That offends me! Well, they do and by making a misspelled rant about her, all it seems is that you are lumping yourself in with all of the other stereotypical RACIST black people. Which is funny, if you think about it, because you always hear Black people calling White people racist but how often do you hear White people calling black people racist unless it is in defense of someone or something?

Pamela Spence is the racist one in this post and her supporters through trying to defend her have validated that point. No professional educator would continue to say offensive things in a classroom that demeans and offends a single race. And her racist rants were not made using any stats they were her personal views. Mrs. Spence took joy from upsetting her students at Holmes and when she knew that students were offended by her comments she kept repeating the same statements. Mrs. Spence in a classroom that had only four African Americans and approximately thirty or more caucasians should have been more respectful. I am not surprised that her supporters have ran to her defense that is what racist do breed hate and try to justify it when caught. I am defending the students at Mississippi College and Holmes whom she obviously upset and bragged about to other students. Mrs. Spence is what she is and that is a staunch racist who uses her classroom as a venting post.
