I am looking for a good daycare facility or in-home daycare in Jackson. I have a 3 year old and I need to find someone that's patient and good with children. He only needs to go 3 days a week in the afternoons.

DO NOT go to Just Kids or Big Stuff Preschool which is in Fruitland.
Just Kids has WAYYY too many kids and a lot of the kids there misbehave. The lady that runs Big Stuff is just hateful. My sister's kids went there and she was horrible to them and other children. She has a nice facility, but that is it. Her policies are ridiculous. She also shares confidential information about kids to other parents. I know she has been reported a few times as well. My sister reported her.
Tender Heart is pretty good and also one on Rt. D, next to the city park. It is close to a Casey's and the hardware store.

There are no good preschools/daycares in Jackson. The owners of Tender care are hateful, money-hungry people. They do not care about kids; just themselves. You can only get good Childcare in Cape. Christian School for the YOung years and Community Day school are the best.

Just Kids in Cape may have a lot of kids but the 2 in jackson do not, Just Kids on Rosamund is the only Accreditated center in Jackson and they are getting ready to add on a Infant toddler room. Misbehaving kids has to do with parenting not childcare centers. The center on Rt D is not Tender Heart it is A Small World get your facts right. Go to CCRR to find a childcare center and go to the Health and Senior Services to look up childcare centers and you can see for your self what a good center is. All centers have their flaws, no one is perfect but some strive to be better than others.

It doesn't necessarily have to be a daycare, it could just be someone that watches children in their home.

I didnt say Tender Heart was on Route D, I said "ONE on Route D." But thank you for refreshing my memory, it is A Small World. My son went there and they were great. As for Just Kids, a few of my friends have had bad experiences there. They allow entirely too much misbehavior. So perhaps they need to adjust their policies. You dont have to be such a smart aleck in your posts.

I'd have to disagree. My little girl has been going to Tender Care for a year now and LOVES it. It's cheaper than every other daycare I've ever called, but almost $45/week! Every teacher she's had has a degree in Elementary education or Child Development. I used to take her to Cape First, and although the staff is nice, I don't want 18 & 19 year olds taking care of my child. I've never had a problem with the owners and know several people that take their kids their and haven't had any problems either.

I agree Tender Care is great my daughter has been going there for over two years. We would not change a thing.

Have you been in Just Kids lately, I think you are highly mistakened. They are barely running on staff, and as far as the comment about letting too much misbehavior, PLEASE give me some advice on what you would do with misbehaving kids, Childcare workers hands are tied. They have to jump through the states hoops, sanitation, Food Program, Accreditation and the owners hoops. Like I said misbehavior comes from parenting not daycare. Parents need to be held accountable for the way their kids behave and if they would treat childcare workers with alittle more respect and realize their job is not just about playing with kids, then maybe their kids would be more respectful. If you owned a buisness wouldnt you want to make money?

Childcare workers spend more time with peoples children then the parents do sometimes, yet they have to watch every little thing they do. Oh, and if they even remotely tell a parent something their child did, "They dont do that at home" PARENTS you are not with your children that long so of course they dont act that way and you just shut them up with video games, tv and such. Spend the whole day - reading, teaching a child to write, picking up, clean up puke, change a diaper, do an art project, play outside, take a nap, do observations, make 3 meals. This is what childcare workers do and more, plus 5 days a week 8hrs+.

Do not go to Just Kids!! The owners of the daycare are awful people, who don't pay there bills but can afford fancy cars and houses. A Small World is a much better daycare and always will be. my friend goes to the one on route W across from South Elementary.

Once again do not comment on daycares if you dont even know where they are......A Small world is on Independence/Rt D and is NOT across from South, There is a church across from there that the South elementary preschool is housed in. The owners do not pay people who screw them over.....and they can buy what ever they want it is their money.....they have lots of buisnesses.

Wow i bet mommy of 2 got more than she bargained for lol. This post has turned into an all out arguing war about daycare.Geez it makes you wonder how mature the people are that are aguing on here.
With every daycare you go to there are bad and good things about them.Just do alot of research about them and ask for references before you go with them.Hope you find a good one

I would not take my children to Just Kids. The director is a 20 year old kid and most of the the teachers are people hired off the street. They have had a few experienced teachers at one time but for some reason they did not stay long. If you live in Jackson I would recommend making the extra drive to cape. Christian School for the young years is an excellent place for kids and the staff is very good.

To; mommy of 2. You need a Day Care Service for your Three year old. You mentioned Three days a week in the afternoon. What are the days and times that you need. This might help some who offer that service.

I know someone who offers this service, been doing it for over 20 years. How do I get in touch with you with this information?
