DO NOT use Jackson Manor... I've had my dad and mom in their for rehab after knee & hip surgeries. They let my moms knee get infected really bad. The nurses let medicine get into my dads eyes and he has had problems ever since. With my moms new knee the nurses will lie to you. I checked with her Dr. and surgeon and neither one had ANY phone calls or faxes to them about her knee. I had to rush her to the hospital ER and had to have an ambulance take back to St. Louis cause of the infection. All they care about is the big dollar they are making on the people in their. I did file a complant about this. Don't know if anything was done about it. They NEVER changed my moms sheets on her bed or made it. She was in a wheel chair and had to do this on her own.

There are many reasons why this place is usually half empty while the other home have waiting lists. Don't let the pretty wall hangings fool you. It is a sad situation.

I don't know about the situation with your parents but i think it is a load of cow dung and they you are just making up crap, and for your information(don't go there) they do have a waiting list for people to get in there, and don't judge, yet be judged! To guest from jackson, if you noticed these problems with your parents, you should've pulled them out of there and put them in a home that better suited you! But yet they stayed their and i can bet were takin very good care of , your just full of crap

My personal experience ith Jackson Manor is Bad! My Grandma lived there and she had Diabetes. She had a stroke and they didn't even notice until my dad went to pick her up and bring her to her birthday party and she couldn't hardly use one side of her body. Also, her sugar level crashed one day, they just kept giving her orange juice to try and raise it. They never called my dad until she lost consciousness and 911 was called. They didn't respect her orders to not be put on life support. A week later, she was taken off life support and died. So I blame Jackson Manor for her death.

blame whoever you want and i'm not saying that, that didn't happen, but jackson manor was taking all the proper precautions with your grandmother that had diabetes...jackson manor is not equipped with the machinary and its not their job to check for strokes or heart attacks and from my experience, sometimes it is really hard to tell if someone has had a stroke or heartattack unless it is moderate to severe. Another thing is...you can put blame on whoever...but if god wasn't ready for her she would still be here...putting blame on someone else, really only makes you feel better because you can say "jackson manor did it" in all truth...diabetes is mean, it affects all your organs...I know jackson manor and its policy's and i know that they were checking it and they were doing what ever that had to...jackson manor is a facility that doesn't force residents to do what they do not want to do...they do not force them to be on a certain diet, they get what they want, they are adults...i am sorry for your loss...but god was ready for her.

Last time I checked, IT WAS YOUR JOB to make sure your elderly residents are okay and that they haven't have a stroke or other health issue. That is why people put there loved ones in nursing homes, to make sure they are being taken care of and supervised. That's why there are nurses at nursing homes! If these residents could take care of themselves, they wouldn't be in a nursing home under YOUR care!

Yes that is our job...We do our job, but if you can do a better job, You should've taken your parents home and cared for them yourself, and the reason people come into the long term care facilities is for rehabilition...24 hour care and so on...Don't go bashing a place for taking care of your family members, i know we did the best, and gave them the best care, but apparently we are not perfect...like i said if your so good and we are so bad then you should've taken them home and cared for them yourself...

I personnaly have never worked for jackson manor but i have worked as a cna for 11 years now and i must say i have seen some pretty bad stuff go on in nursing homes and its very sad and hurts me to know that those kinds of things happen. In my experience in the nursing field i have grown very attached to my residents and sometimes it was like i was basically responsible for acting like the nurse because the actual nurse wouldnt do their job and take what we were saying seriously when we told them there was a problem going on.Every nursing home you go to there are good sides and bad sides and its not really the actual nursing home its the employees. There are still good nurses and CNAs out there.Being a CNA is what i love because i love taking care of my residents they are like family to me and i Love them.I am truly sorry for your loss A GRANDAUGHTER it is very hard to lose a family member.

Oh and to Jackson Manor Employee i say SHAME on YOU for talking to a family member like that.It is our job to take care of their loved ones and do the very best and everything in our power to care for them and make them feel at home when they are in our nursing homes. You talking that way on here has set a very bad example for jackson manor. If i was a person searching for a nursing home and came across this statement i would deff not put my loved one there.Remember Attitude is everything and it really does show what type of person you are and well you seem like a very hateful cold hearted person to me.

Apparently whomever took care of my grandmother did NOT do their job. Not everyone has the space or money to care for thier loved one, that is what they made nursing homes for. But rest assured, MY parents won't go into jackson manor if they ever have to go to a nursing home.
Apparently, "CNA" is more educated about her job responsibilities than you and she actually cares about her patients.

no not shame on me...that person got on here and is trashing the place that i work...that person is also saying stuff that is not true..and my point to him/her is...if the care was that bad why didn't she take care of them herself or transfer them to a different long term care facility...U don't know me, so don't judge me!!! Yes attitude is everything...take your own advise, believe me, i will stand up for whats right and the things she/he is saying are not true and if i was a family member looking for a home for my loved one, i sure in the heck wouldn't be looking on here, but since you mentioned it, i think they would be proud that someone is telling the truth and standing up for what is right instead of letting someone tell lies.. and if it is true that you are a cna, and you work in a nursing home, how would you like it if someone was posting comments that you knew where not true? The tables would be turned then...

You do not know me, Don't judge me, apparently as you stated u kept your parents in a home that wasn't taking care of your parents, so i guess you actually don't care about your parents..But its a load of crap because we do take care of our patients and not everyone is perfect, including you! I love my patients, YOU DON'T KNOW HOW I WORK, YOU DON'T KNOW HOW I CARE FOR MY PATIENTS, I don't get on a website and bash the place that i had to place my parents because they wasn't able to take care of themselves and i wasn't able to care for them..and then admit that i left them there and i wasn't satisfied with the care that they recieved...You know what...Good for you, I guess your taking the right steps in making sure that your parents are not in a place that doesn't suit you...

I don't know about other peoples experiences, but i work there and it is the most family oriented place, they care for their staff and they take exceptional care of the residents, alot of the residents have been there a very long time...You can call Jackson Manor to inquire more...

I know several people who work and also ones that have worked at the jackson manor and from what i know, jackson manor has very poor taste for employee's. I don't know who exactly this "jackson manor employee" person. But like i said, i know some people who use to work there and some that still work there. I would never send my parents there knowing what kind of help they have there. But jackson manor employee, i like your attitude towards your job, wish alot more people had your attitude

I am not judging you for one i am simply stating that the way you have handled the situation and replied to the accusations is very distasteful and not very proffesional.I for one know first hand how it is to be accused of something that isnt true but there is a wrong way and a right way to deal with it.I have actually had to turn in my best friend for abusing one of my residents before and as a result of that i lost my best friend and she lost her license which i think that was what should have happened.I am not on here to judge you as a person and say your a bad person hun i am just saying the way this situation was handled on here is not good.Im sure that its not the first time that someone has bashed jackson manor and probably wont be the last but you see that there are still residents there so dont worry yourself too much about it its only causing you stress.
