A. Taking a pic in a public place is not illegal if it's not sold.

B. The girl is not a minor.

C. If a 20 year old good looking guy took the same pic, this would not be an issue.

Freaks in this world! I would not have let him get away with taken even one picture. She knew what he was doing after the first picture smack that phone out of his hand in the middle of the store. Two words girls PEPPER SPRAY!

Kentucky, you are nuts. You would be in far deeper trouble than the guy taking a legal picture. How would jail feel?

Apparently he was back in Wal-Mart this weekend. A group of girls had complained about him to customer service and he was detained for a while, then let go.

if someone takes a picture of my butt without my permission their phone will be broken and it isn't against the law to pepper spray someone if you have good reason for it. They sell that crap at Walmart.

Today, I almost followed a girl and her mother around in Walmart. Dressed appropriately? I think not, even for Walmart. Maybe some of these girls are trolling in there now, looking for an excuse.

In a public accesible place such as Walmart or out on the street, you can photograph any person you want,s long as it is not sold for profit if the person is in a home where there is no public access then there is a problem.
If she is dressed inapproatly, it is the mothers fault, what do you really exspect? Sounds like you just want attention to me too..
I forgot to mention restrooms as off limit too, it is called reasonable expectation of privacy, in a public place you have none. You can disagree all day long but it is the law. How do you think photographers get all those imbarrising pictures of celeberties? Its the difference between private and public.

They sell guns in Walmart but you can't go around shooting people.
Sorry

I just checked out the people of walmart website. There's a recent one of a lady bending over taken in Missouri. But she's wearing a skirt and seems to be near the milk aisle and looks older than 17.
I saw it too. I bet that's her!

Sounds like what you should do is get a lynch party together. You've already convicted him of a perceived crime. He must be guilty of something since a lot of you who have no first hand knowledge of what happened say he did something wrong.

That is what Topix is all about!

Kentucky, I guess you would get a gun and shoot someone in Wally World, too. According to you it would be okay.

In no way is this guys' actions tolerable, but everyone here is partially to blame. Our allows young women to dress more scantily than ever before, and this is going to be the result. Plus, it isn't a criminal activity unless he actually approached or physically accosted the teenager. I've known many "respectable" families who allow their daughters to dress like this. It's accepted in this day and age as fashion.

I agree completely. We live in a society where it's ok for young ladies to dress in as little as possible. I have seen shorts barely covering the bottom and jeans that go way below the waist. In the last year I have see more butt cracks on young women than plumbers. Mothers and Fathers allow teens to dress that way and say if we say no they are going to do it anyway.
I have three granddaughters that right now are five, three and two. I hope that this is not the fashion when they become teens. As far as the pervert I hope his intentions were limited to just a picture and hope he finds help before he gets in to deep and hurts someone or himself.

Who has blamed the girl? I don't see other posts on here.
Check out Amber and Kevins comments under the kfvs12 article about this. People can wear whatever clothing they wish and should not fear being sexually attacked because of it. If a woman was running down the street nude that is no reason for her to be sexually attacked. Makes it sound like the old crap "she was asking for it", which is just an excuse for a man to take advantage of a woman.

The Mom is with them and acts like nothing is wrong with it. Sometimes the Mom shows the same thing. The old guy was wrong that's for sure but the Mom should make sure her teen is dressed like a young lady too.
So what?? Quit judging. Your just one opinion. If you don't like it don't look at it. You should never let someone photograph you unless they approach, tell you who they are, show credentials and ask permission. Your face could be used on another body and in a setting you many not like and it would be plastered all over the internet. That could be far worse than being "embarrassed" by calling the police. Wise up people.
