I went to the Dr yesterday and about 15 patients, including myself, went to be treated for scabies! I'm one of the cleanest people you would ever meet, how in the hell did I get it!? Any explanations please help!

Scabies is transmitted when there is prolonged skin-to-skin contact with an infected person. You can also get it as a result of sharing clothing, towels, and bedding.

Wow, that was ignorant. You dont have to be a drug head to get these things, obviously. Its just a "wrong place wrong time" thing.

I too was diagnosed with scabies. However, they did not take a skin sample to make sure. I've had this rash all over my body for weeks, I've used the scabies wash shampoo and cream. Nothing works. Infact, I think it made it worse. Nexttime I see my doctor I am demanding a skin culture.

I was diagnosed with scabies also. Ask them to give you a methylprednisolone tablets and was all of your clothes and sheets in hot water! I took the methylprednisolone pack and my rash went away, but i put my clothes back on that had it on them and i got the rash back. This should help you. Let me know how it goes!:)

mine started out between my fingers as little bitty bumps (some were like blisters filled with liquid of some kind) and then they started turning into just a bunch of bumps all over my body. the parts that itch the worst are my hands, stomach, and inner thighs. its constantly red and bumpy. anything specific you want to know about it, or does that about cover it?

I've had bumps like that, but I am positive it isn't scabies. It started out as water blisters on my wrists and fingers, but quickly turned into hives all over my body! I'm talking red blotchy spots three inches wide all over me! I later started noticing mosquito like bumps appearing all over my skin. And now I cannot stop itching! Nothing will cure it. I swear I've tried it all. The same thing happened to my sister around the third trimester of her pregnancy, but vanished after she had the child. I got these bumps at the end of my first trimester, so I'm wondering if my pregnancy also plays as a factor?

that sounds exactly like how mine was at the begining, however mine weren't "hives" they were just an array of bumps EVERYWHERE and now they are mainly on my hand/arms, stomach (with a few on my upper chest) and on my inner thighs. but i have them in other places too, they just itch the worst in those main spots. the bumps on my upper chest look like hives, but only when i get out of the shower. like i mentioned earlier, the only thing that cured them for me was that medrol pack (shortened term). but, lacey, if you ask for this ask about pregnancy warnings, because i think there was one on the back, but i'm not sure and i'm not home right now to check it. when i get home from school i can look and post it on here if you would like.
but i am wondering if anyone has been successful in curing this? i have had mine for 3-4 months now and it is damn near driving me insane! i wake up every hour itching and I cant focus on anything but the itching in school or at home. its horrible! please keep me posted on how this works out for you and how you got rid of it! thanks and let me know if i can do any more to help!:)

Try giving a dermatologist a call. You may have to travel to Memphis or St. Louis, but I would say that he/she will get you on the right track to getting rid of those pesky mites.

yea, thats what the doctor told me to do after they treated me 3 times for scabies. She told me that it wasnt scabies, but she had no idea what it could be and that i should give a dermatologist a call. I dont have the money, but i think its a risk i'm gonna have to take. Its driving me crazy!

I've been to the dermatologist I don't know how many times. They tell me the same thing every time, scabies! No skin cultures, just looking with the , naked eye. I've been treated so many times and it does nothing but make it worse! I shower two times a day, I scrub my skin raw with unscented body wash (to avoid allergies to the added fragrances) and wash my clothes(every day of course) sheets blankets and pillows (about twice a week). I am trying everything I can possibly do and nothing is working. I'll tell you what this dermatologist,(I see Dr moon) is full of crap. I think its going to take a trip across the state for me to get some real answers lol

Go to a large town. Get away from the locals here on this. A fresh set of eyes may be all you need.

Do you have animals? That sounds like flea bites. No need to worry about bed bugs or scabies because your symptoms are to vague. If they start to get worst id see a doctor asap. Better to get it taken care of now than later. The last thing you want to do is let it go untreated.
