Common prayers and phrases said during Catholic Mass to change; don't worry they made a cheat sheet

Mar 14, 2011 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: MLive.com

Jackson-area Catholics are learning some new words to say and sing during Mass - and if they forget, cheat sheets will be available in every pew, next to the hymnals.

Perfect example of catholics changing the rules as they go along. Always making up stuff that is NOT in the bible.

What rules are you refering to? Where in the Bible does it state that prayers can not be changed especially if they are being changed to better use the scriptures? Not that you'll respond with anything of worth.

You catholics read prayers from a book instead of praying from YOUR heart. WHy is this? Stop reading prayers from a book that are dry and not even your own words. FAKE!

If you bothered to read any of these prayers you would know that they are made up mostly from scripture. Many psalms are used. The words of the Bible then are considered "dry" by you then? How strange for one who claims the Bible is everything.

Pray from your heart and stop reading prayers?

Matthew 6:7 Bible in Basic English

"And in your prayer do not make use of the same words again and again, as the Gentiles do: for they have the idea that God will give attention to them because of the number of their words."

I use both ways of praying to God. I make up my own prayers and "talk" to God and I also pray the prayers that I was taught.

I love praying the original Rosary (minus the luminous mysteries.)

You mean "prayers from a book" like, say, the Lord's Prayer?

Should we all stop praying that one too?

We're getting "fed up" with YOUR "mess".

The Luminous mysteries complete the story of Jesus in such a wonderful way making the Rosary more complete in it's meditation on the life of Christ.

Mostly from the Bible. You've been told this before.

Wait-I thought getting a prayer from a book was "bad"? You're supposed to make it up on your own. You said so.

The Hail Mary is replete with scripture.

What you believe to be the real Bible would not exist if it weren't for the Catholic Bible. Again a simple read of history would let you know this.

Reading, even "simple" reads, are beyond "fedup"'s pay grade, as it were.

It seems this way. Fed is one I've delt with before and what he posts is not new. Still I have hope that he may still learn something. If only because of the persistance of those who understand Catholic teaching and refuse to allow him and others to post falsehoods and misconceptions without something to counter them.
