TOO TOO HIGH

They have raised their prices so high it is ridiculous, They have a 50 yr. old caner in there for 50.00, the seal is completely dry rotted, they put 20.00- 50.00 on their bed spreads and quilts now, everything has doubled in price since they moved, and their old scratched up furniture is completely ridiculous, they have a old bed room suit in there scratched up really bad with a leg broke off the dresser for 250.00, they say Dolly prices it from the plant but I don't know about that, anyway this store is supposed to be there to help the poor people of this county, I'm sure that is what the people that DONATES it thinks, but the poor people of this Co. can't afford it anymore,I hope people will protest this to Karen Bunn, she needs to go in there and look around at their prices and keep in mind that this store should be there to help people that need it not just a money racket.Their customers are paying their pay checks every week, GOD IS GOOD----------ALL THE TIME, at least for a few!

I agree with you. SOmething needs to be done. There prices are stupid. I know when they was in there building where true value is. I think her name was Bonnie was doing the pricing on the clothes, bedding and everything else that went into that store. Did you know that if something really nice comes into the store and the workers like they will hide it back for themself and when they leave they just take it out of there. I have seen this. Theydont buy nothing. Plus if they like a purse that comes in they get there old ragged one out and switch. I dont think that it right.

You are right, Bonnie priced the old canner also, but shes just up here a day or so a week, Maggie uses that pen as a sword now,Tammy and the young man they hired is the only workers that [work] there, so far as I'm concerned, and Maggie has told her to price even higher now, and Maggie's sister Maxine never does nothing but check out people and shop, she keeps more than any 2 in there, I have seen them keep everything good also,I know when it came from the office that they weren't supposed to buy certain things I seen them hiding them in the bottom of their bags full of stuff and taking it right outta there. They will never stop until people start complaining to Karen Bunn. It doesn't do no good talking to Dolly she doesn't even tell Karen you talked to her, maybe if we stick together in numbers we can change things.

Sorry, I'm from Campton. Who is Karen Bunn? I just noticed the store was gone and thought they had gone out of business--but sounds like the prices will drive everyone away.

My parents went to them about 35 years ago when they were burn out and ask for help, the store told them they would have to buy the items. My parents didn't have the money because it was in the middle of the month. They needed a electric stove and some more things to get their lives back in order, but the opportunity store wouldn't help them without money. I always thought that a church was suppose to help people in need.

Who would one report their unfair practice of allowing their employees to pick out items for themselves and everyone else as they process it to sell.I know that all the best childrens and baby clothes are picked out before they ever make it to be sold to the public.Same goes for other items also.People who donate do not expect a select few employees to get all the best name brand clothes.

It doesn't just happpen at the store I went to a yard sale in which a lady that was having it told me that she got all of her clother from the Plant. She said she got to go through them and put them in boxes to be taken the opportunity stores. I heard them say in there one day that Karen said for them to raise their prices if is was named brand. Problem is, the workers don't know syles. The sale the brands cheap and the cheap sky high. It is so funny but I guess you don't have to be smart to work for the Bunns

I think it's happening at all thrift stores. My daughter-in-law lives in Campton and shops at the thrift store there. She says the prices there have doubled too. Now jeans are 2.00, blouses are .50 and shoes are .50 or 1.00!

The one in Hazard are reasonable priced. I went in there today and They have better stuff alot cheaper. My mother in law and father in law got burnt out 2 yrs ago. At the time my son was staying with them a few nights aweek. When we called over to see if they couldnt get help some women told me that they didnt help with people losing everything they had.
If we make calls to Karen something might be done.

I bought a bag of odds for a dollar and brought it home and it was garbage. There was nothing good in it but lids to jars that were old and used. Broken candle holders, chipped coffee cups. You name it. I think they are trying to rip someone off. You can also buy bags of travel size lotion and etc there for three dollars and most of it is used. The makeup is all used. You can get hepatitis from that stuff. I have seen used toothbrushes, toothpaste, eye makeup. You cannot believe what they sale that needs to go in the trash ... It is moslty garbage and outdated. I cannot help but laugh at the prices. They are silly people. It is freaking hilarious.

Lucy that's really cheap according to what the opportunity store charges, all their blouses start at 2.00 and go on up, jeans start at 3.00 but if they are any good at all they are 5 to 6.00 ,I have seen 10.00 on a pair of name brand jeans, and shoes are ridiculous especially men, they start about 6.00 and go right on up most pretty good shoes are 10.00 now, it used to be pretty fair but it's getting outta hand,I guess they are going to make us pay their rent, utilities, paychecks etc......
