JACKSON, Ky. - This is what passed for progress during 2010 in the case of Karu Gene White, who is about to conclude his 31st year on Kentucky's death row: First, Special Circuit Judge Gary Payne forgot about the case for the second time in five months, acknowledging to a reporter that he lost track of it, and had failed to rule on a pending ...

Sounds like they need another Judge. This one is either too old, or too busy or too incompetent.

I remember when that took place.I had just started my job the year before.I retired last year.He should have just went to work,he would have already been retired.I know the wheels of justice grind slowly, but this is a bit much.

I knew this man personally when this crime took place.I knew the victoms of the crime very well also.I was probably ten years old at the time those elderly people were so good to all the childern in that comunity and adults too. This man Karu gene White was convicted of this crime ,he sould have to pay for what he done.Genes brother in law and brother were also just as guilty, but girl frends brother turned evedence and got out of it.Genes brother Tommy didnt get much time and he is down in Florida know.Running his own business the last time I heard of about him.But Karu should have to be put to death for the crime he was sentece for. This judge should be dis bared for letting this go on the way he has.As for him wanting a incompotent avaluation.Karu is as much capable of his actions as I am myself. It sould go back to the old days ,an eye for an eye.Dont mess around Judge,he has already made fool out of the rest of the courts and Judges.Do your cival dewty and order him to death this is what he deserves and it might give the family and some citizens of the comunity some justic for what he has done!!!!!!!

lets get this straight gene should be put to death but the other two got off. what a joke!!! the crimes that were committed was horrible, nasty and unforgiveable. but three people were involved!!! genes death sentence should be overturned and he should get life imprisonment without the possiblty of parole. that would mean he would still get more punishment than the other two. lets get a clue people.

I hear that Karu White was the son of his own mother's daughter by another marriage. His mother, Kitty White died here while back.

The law should require that the sentence be carried out in no more than 90 days from the time it is handed down. It is totally ridiculous that our tax dollars have housed and fed a piece of human trash like this for such a long time. A jury found him guilty and he was sentenced to death, so kill the SOB already. If they cant find someone to pull the switch, I'll be happy to volunteer.

If "Special Circuit Judge Gary Payne" is so forgetful, perhaps he shouldn't be a judge at all.

I have a question for you Einstein. One guy got off for turning states evidence, a new name and a one way trip to Texas at the expense of the Kentucky taxpayers and Tommy spent only a few years in prison, he is in prison for different crimes in Florida now. So Gene should get the death penalty as punishment for what three people did. yes, what he participated in was horrible and unforgivable but the case was screwed up from day one. give him life in prison with no parole and call it good. p.s. people have committed lot worse crimes and not got the death penalty. btk(bind tortue kill) in kansas did not get the death penalty and two of his victims were kids.

They ALL should have gotten the death penalty, and should have been dead within 90 days after the trial. Why should the tax dollars of decent people be used to feed and house this fecal material?

First of all “man”, I am going to assume you mean “innocent” when you repeatedly say “incident”, since that is the only way your post could possibly make any sense at all “man”. You obviously watch too much television. A person convicted by a jury in a fair trial is very rarely innocent, but it does happen. That unlikely possibility is the reason they should wait the 90 days, to allow for possible appeals. There is no reason to drag out the process for years and years while we feed and house this worthless trash. The incident (proper use of the word) that this scumbag was convicted of was particularly appalling. Those three old people were beaten to death. Their bodies were so mutilated they had to be buried in body bags. Therefore I have no sympathy for this piece of crap. Do you understand now,“man”?

I think what this person is trying to say, is where some have served time in prison [usually several years], and later was found to be in innocent of any crime. Of course this has happen in the past. God forbid if it happen in a murder trial and they were put to death, and then later found to be innocent. I wouldn't even want to go there. Think what the family went through? But I think with the science they have today, with DNA and all, that wouldn't happen today, of course I hope not.
