Yes we are gone from Breathitt County. The Breathitt County service could no longer operate at a superior level that we are accustom to. All that I can say is that employees can either make a service or break it. Sometimes you just have to accept your losses and move on. Enough said.

Why did you not get rid of the bad employees?

What really transpired is Steve McIntosh paid Jay Arrowood to buy out the service. In between carpet, flooring, and used auto sales, Jay plans to learn how to run an ambulance service while screwing everyone in Breathitt County. They fired everyone there and then turned around and asked them all to put applications in for 50% pay and no insurance. I hope the service burns to the ground and Irene finally gets her way - you f'n backwoods arse retards in Breathitt deserve it.

McIntosh Ambulance Service is horrible and more people will die due to their incompetence. I can't believe we live in an area of the country where the only way we go is backwards. Anyone with bad experiences with McIntosh Ambulance Service please share them.

Let's put everyone down. Let's take the drama that's going on and spread it as far as we can and PROVE that we are all rednecks in Jackson. Good job folks. So proud. You don't like ambulances. Stop calling them and take care of your damn self. Pitiful.

I think that Transtar is a much better ambulance service than McIntosh. All of them charge you a fortune and do as little as possible though, especially if you have insurance. I just hope that Breathitt Co won't suffer too bad.

I don't think anyone is trying to put everyone down. Just the ones that don't know what they are doing. McIntosh Ambulance once came to our home for a seriously ill person and nearly killed them just trying to get them to the ambulance. It is well-known that they are slow and not as well-qualified as an ambulance service should be.

Interesting we had the same bad experience with transtar. guess we all have the right to choose who we want like Pepsi or coke. The big thing I guess we should look at is the fact that transtar is not here they did thier emploees wrong because they really didnt care just wanted money the carpet store is now running that service and have no experience and got rid of the best employees so they may not be what it use to be. I wish people would just work together and be happy for each other.

What qualifications make a good ambulance service? What are the qualifications of every person that works for McIntosh or Trans Star? Do you know or are you guessing? Go down to each and visit and find out. If not, do the job yourself. Every job has dumb asses, just look at government. Every service has a bad day, but why knock everyone for a few, or one? If they almost killed the person at your house, did you report it? To whom? Did you call the State to report it? If not, I have to assume it never happened. If it happened to me, you better believe it would get resolved the way it should be. Apathy will get you nothing...or welfare, but who cares, right? It's easy to complain on an anonymous forum, but courage is doing something to affect change.

Is Mike Curry still running it? If he is then they will be okay because he has been in that business for a long time and knows how people should be treated. If Medicaid and Medicare start paying less then you watch how fast the McIntoshs get out of that business! They are not going to get by with ust picking and choosing runs based on what kind of insurance a person has. I don't think they should be able to refuse to transport a patient because they have no insurance.

Mike Curry is what ran it into the ground to begin with. That lazy SOB hasn't done nothing but read his Bible for the last year, all the while getting all the poontang he can from the Nim Henson nursing staff. No - Mike Curry isn't running it anymore.

Well, it's illegal to refuse to transport anyone, period. Have you reported this offense or is this another cry of wolf? I'm glad Topix exists so we have somewhere to complain about the world and not have to look ourselves in the mirror to see how sorry we really are....

Why don't you just call the hospital yourself and ask the nurses over there if any of them have ever turned down runs. I bet a 100.00 that they have. Pick and chose! Who says it is illegal?
