If two people are in love, it doesn't matter what color, race, and or origin they come from, just as long as they are happy. As for myself, I don't look at the color of one's skin, I look for good character and personality.

Color doesn't have a thing to do with the person you are and if someone loves a person of a different color it is absolutely none of anyone's business but theirs. And their children are absolutely adorable! It is 2012 Breathitt countians.

There isn't anything in the Bible that says you shouldn't marry outside of your race. The only thing the Bible says about marriage is that it is between one woman and one man. It also talks about divorce but that is another issue.
Charlie, I call you on that comment on not looking at the person's color. We all do. It is natural to see the color of one's skin first. Regardless if they are light skinned or dark skinned or whatever thier race. Just like we see the facial structure. Just like we make internal comments to ourself wether we think someone is good looking or not. Doesn't mean everyone jumps to conclusions about that person. Because everyone don't. Like you I look at the internal person before I make up my mine if I like that person or not, but I will admit the first thing I notice is the color of someone's skin. I then notice thier facial structure and lastly I make up my mind if I think they are good looking or not.(beauty in the eye of the beholder concept)
I rarely disagree with you Charlie but this is one time I have too.

As for same sex marriage, if you are straight why do you care? Just think of it this way, that's two less homosexuals that you have to worry about hitting on YOU.
(Yes, I do realize how stupid that sounds. lol)

I wasn't saying I didn't notice their skin color, I was referring to judging people. I know when I walk up to someone, I'll notice they're black or white, and or if they're Asian or a North American Native. I don't believe anyone should judge someone because of their skin color, race, origin, and or their religion. When it comes to marriage, the skin color, race, origin, and or religion shouldn't be a factor, just as along the couple is happy.

In other words, you're judging a whole for what a few have done. Every African-American male doesn't go around getting white women pregnant, neither does every white American male go around getting African-American females pregnant. I have seen blacks, whites, and Asians that were very good people, and I have also seen African-Americans and white women who were married and were good people. There are a lot of white males that go around getting white women pregnant, same as African-American males that go around and get African-American females pregnant, but that doesn't make all people bad. You look for the bad in people only, without looking for the good in them also, meaning; not everyone is bad.

As Martin Luther King noted, a person should be judged by his or her character, not by skin color. There is no place in the life of the Christian for favoritism based on race (James 2:1-10). When selecting a mate, a Christian should always first find out if the potential spouse is born again by faith in Jesus Christ (John 3:3-5). Faith in Christ, not skin color, is the biblical standard for choosing a spouse. Interracial marriage is not a matter of right or wrong, but of wisdom, discernment, and prayer.

The only reason interracial marriage should be considered carefully is the difficulties a mixed-race couple may experience because of others who have a hard time accepting them. Many interracial couples experience discrimination and ridicule, sometimes even from their own families. Some interracial couples experience difficulties when their children have skin tones of different shades from the parents and/or siblings. An interracial couple needs to take these things into consideration and be prepared for them, should they decide to marry. Again, though, the only biblical restriction placed on whom a Christian may marry is whether the other person is a member of the body of Christ.

Here is something you may want to consider: God is absolutely NOT against interracial marriages. God only commands us to marry people of the Christian faith. He's concerned about a person's heart, not what color of skin he or she has. There is a humorous story in the Bible that clearly illustrates God's hatred toward prejudice.

Moses' sister Miriam disagreed with Moses' decision to marry an Ethiopian woman. Ethiopia is in east Africa, just north of the equator--this is a location of the black race. Moses married a black woman. Miriam's prejudice is evident: "...Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married..." (Numbers 12:1).

I love how God responded to Miriam's prejudice against Moses' black wife. God turned Miriam's skin white as snow! Through this, God was saying to her: Miriam, if you think that black is ugly, then white must be beautiful. So I'm going to give you extra white skin.

Miriam soon discovered that white wasn't more beautiful than black. Finally, her younger brother Aaron cried out to Moses in behalf of his sister: "Please, my lord, do not hold against us the sin we have so foolishly committed" (v. 11).

Prejudice is a foolish sin. Prejudice is ignorance gone mad. After Miriam learned her lesson the hard way, Moses prayed for her healing and God answered.

Let's learn from this story how God hates prejudice!

Some people might ask, "Why did God forbid Israel from intermarrying with surrounding nations?"

The reason for this was not the color of their skin or their national origin, but the condition of their heart. These people were idol worshippers. They did not believe in the One True God. The same principle applies today for us born-again Christians: We should not marry anyone who is not born again.
