I think you are confusing McIntosh Ambulance with Breathitt County Ambulance. They are 2 seperate ambulance services. The medical director did not quit McIntosh but Breathitt Co./Transtar.
You are wrong

McIntosh does have a medical director which is the same medical director that Breathitt/TransStar did have until he quit being their director. At this time Breathitt/TransStar doesn't have a medical director nor do they have a mutual aid agreement with the local Jackson Fire Dept. for extracation/rescue purposes which the state requires all ambulance services to have. So at this time Breathitt/TransStar is operating illegally.

Would they allow citizens to come in at anytime and tour their facility and check out their trucks to see what they are carrying and what they are not. I think they should have many surprise inspections to keep them on their toes
Oh well

Sorry to burst your perfect bubble but, the medical director sent letters to BOTH ambulance services saying he was quitting due to working at the Suboxone Clinic. Breathitt then received a new director. As far as the mutual aid agreement, you donít have to sign one as they are obligated to the citizens of the county to do it. So, you are saying if someone is trapped in a car accident then the fire department wonít extricate them unless McIntosh is the one working the wreck?

That's mostly everything needed to run an ambulance, laid out in LAW by the state. Breathitt County Ambulance, operated by Jay Arrowood, does not meet a very large portion of these LAWS.

As for the mutual aid agreement, I'll save you the trouble and copy/paste it.

(5) A provider shall enter into mutual aid agreements with another Kentucky licensed provider or fire department, rescue squad, or other organizations operating within the same or contiguous counties, that provide response to medical emergencies. These agreements shall be in writing and address:
(a) The type of mutual aid assistance to be provided, including ALS or BLS medical care, ALS medical first response, or extrication;
(b) Response personnel, including levels of training or education and provisions for joint in-service training or education if appropriate;
(c) Response vehicles, including unit identifiers and the station or location from which the vehicles shall be operated;
(d) A plan of action for the mutual aid agreement, including dispatch and notification procedures;
(e) Radio and other communications procedures between the ambulance provider and other response agencies with which the provider has mutual aid agreements;
(f) On-scene coordination and scene control including medical direction if several agencies respond to the same incident;
(g) Exchange of patient information, records, and reports as allowed by law; and
(h) The effective dates and process for amendment or termination.

So as you see. Since the ambulance service does not offer extrication services, they MUST have a written agreement on file with Jackson Fire Department.(They do not)

Further, to battle your sarcastic comment, Jackson Fire Department has an ethical, moral, and legal obligation to respond to incidents paged by Hazard Kentucky State Police post. They do not, however, have any obligation to respond with Jay's band of merry trouble makers, just because they ask.

And as for Dr. Johnson. The Suboxone Clinic excuse was simply given to make a quick escape. I've seen the letter with my own two eyes and spoken with him personally. He dropped Breathitt Ambulance because of their lying, stealing, unprofessional attitudes/appearance, and unwillingness to meet with him and modify/update procedures/protocols.

That is a lie

yes the fire department can have an ambulance service then when the others are out of business the fire department can go to the city council and say hey we need an ems tax and they will give it to them without the publics knowledge, like other things they do without the voters knowledge. and then a new mayor will be elected and say hey you firemen stay in the city limits and then the people at evanston athol vancleve and the head of southfork won't be able to get an ambulance because it can't leave the city. you have two ambulance services now a third would only benefit rich people who would skim the money like Nim Henson did

I bet there was not even a paramedic on the truck. They have three BLS ( basic life sapport) and only ONE ALS (advanced life sapport ) on duty in Breathitt county, so you see what Arrowood really thinks about is money. See, he uses his ALS Paramedic to do transfers out of the hospital and most of the 911s in the county only get a BLS unit. And most of them are new EMTs that are right out of school and don't even know how to put a COT into the back of a truck!! This company is such a laugh. Might as well put your loved one in your vehicle and take them yourself! and the law says all ambulances MUST abide by the KY state regulations as any other vehicle unless they our in route to an emergancy then they still have due regard witch means only speed if safe to do so and must stop at all lights and only when safe can you run a red light. Just WHO is their medical director?????? call him and complain and call KBEMS (ky board of emergancy medical services) sure hope the Jackson Fire Dept gets the city and hires people with experiance and knowledge. Go FIREDEPT!!! I love you guys and I know you truly care about this community and it is high time that EMS is turned over to them and run these private services out!!!!!!!! They just want MONEY care less about us.

GO ROG-O..........need respect put back into EMS. Arrowood is intimidated by anyone who really understands how to handle emergancies he has NO clue about anything, he won't even get on a truck and see what all is involved in car wrecks and saving lives. He has no knowlege of EMS he is not a EMT or a paramedic or a fire fighter! He was told by Terry he could make millions running an ambulance service ha ha GREED is the Devils trick, he miss treated alot of good people and he knows it is the truth he believed in a lot of lies and many lost jobs because of it he let the devil In and is to blind to see it. MONEY the ROOT of all evil! GOD knows everything he sees all and taking suppies from the hospital is STEALING!! and you know your NEW employees did. so call yourself a preacher if you want but the same comandments I have to live by so do you. One last thing I must say is I pray for my enemies and I do GOOD to them who despitfully use me for their gain and GOD be the JUDGE of it all. For what matter you judge greater will your judgement be.

if an ambulance service has it's own rescue equipment they don't need a mutual aid agreement you need to read the fine print

Breathitt Ambulance has their own rescue equipment? Please, tell us more non-sense.

As for the city FD, there's no talks of a tax and there certainly isn't even a need for a tax. These are all lies propagated by the Breathitt Ambulance bunch to try and cause trouble.

Only benefit rich people? You have entitlement issues, don't you?
