Anyone who cares about JCS doesn't want a merge with Breathitt, not that they are bad. Just that we want our school to remain the way it is now. If we had wanted to go to Breathitt, we would have. Shouldn't our leaders fight with every ounce of energy and every resource they have to represent the needs, wants, and wishes of the students they represent? Don't roll over and give up! Why all of a sudden are we broke? Is there something going on that we aren't being told? Is there a deal for someone to climb the ladder and make a deal that will line their pockets? Is the school being given over as a sacrifice? There has always been two choices, we still want that choice. Each school has things to offer different kids and everyone I know wants to keep it that way. We feel that the board needs to fight till the last breath to keep us open. We don't have a voice but those who represent us owe it to us to do whatever it takes to keep our school the way it is. We don't want to be a big school, we like it this way. Our school has been here for a long time, we only want those who are loyal and love our school the way we do to be at the lead, if you are not, step aside.

My guess as to why this is happening is to release the super do he can pursue the Breathitt job. That is just my guess. And why meet with the kids and tell them this. And to my knowledge, the parents haven't been told! I think there is more going on in the admin office than we know. Doesn't pass the smell test

I agree with the post that says fight for your school! I will assure you that most in the Breathitt County Schools aren't happy to learn that Jackson may become part of our system. Everyone knows that Jackson caters to a certain group-students with high academic performance and money. Breathitt County provides services for all children, regardless of income or how well they perform academically.

Actually Ive been going to Jackson since pree school and i get just as much help as anyone else if i need it. Were like a big family. Each individual student is treated the same within the classroom or atleast in the highschool classes they are. I dont play any sports so i dont know about how peple are treated in that enviornment.

Look at the bright side. If city school closes and the kids go to Breathitt, that will cause Breathitt's average test scores to rise once all those smart kids get in the Breathitt system.

Let's show our ignorance and shut down a successful school and merge with a failing school system. Typical eastern KY way. Now complain the next time Hollywood make your sister your mistress or Diane Sawyer talks about your Mountain Dew teeth.

Well for starters who has two principals we don't need both, second why is this just now coming out.sounds to me like spencer already has a job at Breathitt if it still goes under.if they gave some people that can run it,it will stay where it's at.

Maybe you should check the job descriptions for those two principals!! They are both more than that, I know one of them has about 6 different titles.

You don't sound like a Tiger 4 Life. JCS is perfect when things are going good but now that it is crumbling you are pointing fingers and accusing people of not working. If you are a true tiger you should be banning together instead of tearing apart. Spencer, Yount & Watts have always worked well with me & for my children. I can't believe a true tiger would make such post!!

Real smart, aren't you? You have all the problems solved. Have no paid principal, no lunch room supervision & no certified coaches. What, just have the students roaming freely doing whatever. Food fights, skipping school, no control, child molesting coaches who volunteer.... That would be a great place to be wouldn't it. That's about the dumbest thing I have ever read.

calm down....tough finances call for drastic measures.#1 anyone knows that anything that gets done goes thru Mr Spencer. Talking to Mr Yount is a waste of time.#2 I did not say leave the lunch rooms unattended. JCS has trained volunteers that have offered to cover #3 If I remember correctly your current certified coach had allegation against him at one time. But that's beside the point. A volunteer can take his place that can be back ground checked like you so called certified coach. And to question my loyalty because you simply are not willing to give up anything to keep or school open is a reflection of the ignorance that runs free in your pea sized brain.
