I'm sure speed or reckless driving wasn't a factor in this crash. Remember, it's never the fault of the driver. It's probably also safe to say that all involved can light up a room with a smile and are amazing people who were turning their lives around.

You're talking like this about a 16 year kid hours after his death? With no information about people or accident conditions?
But you're so spot on with your sarcastic analysis, you have the whole world figured out, don't you?
Man, it's you who needs to turn your life around and find a better way to start your day. What a sad, little human being you must be.

When you're at work or school today and people are talking to you, just remember you got up this morning and started off January 12th poking fun at a news story about a child dying.

The driver is going to have to live with this for the rest of his life. If speed was the main factor as well as inexperience, then he's an idiot.

Not only that, the driver and his sister lived - the family that lost their son is probably going to hate the family that had their two kids live forever, even if they don't want to feel that way. Its human nature.

I drive a helluva lot safer now just so OWSH doesn't have to get up early and talk about me.
Thanks, I guess.

No information about people or accident conditions?? Isn't Sandra Dr. a residential street? How can someone get into a fatal accident if they strike something while driving 20mph?

speed limit in a residential area is 30.

Whatever caused the accident -- be it speed, recklessness etc it isn't going to bring back this 16 year old boy.

I can't imagine sending my child off to church youth group and never seeing him again.

Yes, I am.

“With no information about people or accident conditions?”
Who says so, you?

“Man, it's you who needs to turn your life around and find a better way to start your day.”
It’s my belief that I started my day better than those in the crash ended theirs.

“What a sad, little human being you must be.”
Maybe so, but I’m around to talk about it, right?

“When you're at work or school today and people are talking to you, just remember you got up this morning and started off January 12th poking fun at a news story about a child dying.”
I’ll remember that when I drove to my destination that I did it safely. What child are you talking about?

I see the original link is gone. Let’s add a few more.

Good for you! I wouldn’t want to see one of the Topix regulars kill themselves or others. Glad to have you around for another day.

There’s plenty of information.
It’s a residential street with a serious curve. Trying to do 45mph could be deadly.

While the general law regarding speed on a residential street restricts us to 30mph, NYS V&TL has a blanket statement.
§ 1180. Basic rule and maximum limits.(a) No person shall drive a vehicle at a speed greater than is reasonable and prudent under the conditions and having regard to the actual and potential hazards then existing.

This was a good kid "Michael". From what i understand he was coming back from church meeting and very then likely the driver hit a patch of black ice on the way home.

You're making assumptions

at 18 years old how much driving experience does this kid really have? did his inexperience possibly cause an error in judgement of road conditions, quite probably, but that isn't to automatically assume reckless speed was the cause.

The road has a lazy curve to it nothing serious about it.

From what I understand, information will prove he was speeding. There was also no black ice. Did you know that skid marks do not appear on pavement that’s covered with black ice?

No, I’m not.

“at 18 years old how much driving experience does this kid really have?“
Squat.

“but that isn't to automatically assume reckless speed was the cause.”
Wanna make a bet? Take a good look at the pictures.

“The road has a lazy curve to it nothing serious about it.”
A 45 degree bend in about 800 feet is lazy for a road? You’re kidding, right?

I didn't call anyone an idiot.
