It might thin them out around the Bundy ranch, but it isn't going to make the ideological undercurrent go away.

Question I have: Who is paying the bills for these nutcases?

I don't know many people who could take off from work or a business for that long. I would have thought they would have run out of money, or been afraid they would get fired from their jobs, and gone back home to work by now. But they have not. That makes me think that somebody with some real money is paying them an allowance while they're at the ranch.

That is a good question. Most of those guys don't own much other than a gun.
Here is something interesting to watch and I hope "nac" don't get caught up in the silliness.

In one article they had a face book page asking for donations. They admitted some of them lost heir jobs and some left their families. One guy said his wife is divorcing him.

A few of them look like they may be old enough to be retired. They are asking for $100,000 dollars. They received $170 before they took down the money begging link. I would think some of them either are taking vacation time, sick days, or they may even be unemployed.

They can always go eat Bundy's boney cows. Bundy is a millionaire. I wonder if he treats the militia like he does the BLM with his money.

Myself I like a good meal, a nice bed and a nice shower everyday. Sleeping out on the ground when it is hot and dry out is no fun. They must really be fools to rough it for a grass thief. None of them have any reasonable concept of what the Government is for or even a basic understanding of the constitution.

To me they are a bunch of dangerous delusional Tim McVeigh types that should be disarmed permanently and held to protect society.

Oh! Yes! Operation American Spring.

First I heard about it was at the local greasy spoon yesterday. The local 380 pound "militiaman" was talking about it between bites of the half a ham he was having for breakfast. My first reaction was, "You've got to be kidding."

Afraid not.

There seems to be a lot of passive sympathy for it among the ignorant hillbilly crowd. Not much chance of anybody actually going to Washington. They'd just cheer if it really did happen.

I am just afraid that this Anarchist (or whatever the hell it is) undercurrent is going to spin off independent, cellular domestic terrorist groups that are the Right wing equivalent of the Left wing Symbionese Liberation Army in the 1970s. Such lunatic fringe groups on the Right would be a lot harder to defeat than the SLA was, especially if they take on a "Christian" religious identity. That would make it extremely difficult for law enforcement to identify them or act against them before they commit a violent act. Intelligence gathering and preemptive action would simply turn more religious fundamentalists against the government, because they would see it as a the government taking action against themselves and their religious beliefs. The ideological foundation for that has already been laid in the "persecution" paranoia that is coming from so many big name preachers and commentators.

Interesting article on the Idaho GOP debates:

I tried to get the high points off the bottom of the article but the link to utube was removed.

The is the full show on youtube at the 4:50 mark it starts to get interesting. At the 5:50 the other guy gets to show his stuff.

And in other news:

Saira Blair, a 17-year old high school student, has unseated the incumbent state legislator in the Republican primary in West Virginia. She will face off against a Democrat in the November general election.

http://www.komonews.com/news/national/17-year...

I haven't seen any video of this little gal, but from reading what she said in her campaign, she comes across as having a hell of a lot more sense than any of the four candidates for governor in Idaho - or either candidate in our U.S. Senate GOP primary or their Democratic challenger here in Kentucky. If there is any hope for the Republican party and genuine old-style conservatism like Ike's it will have to wait for her generation to come into its own.
