He's a drug addict....again.

During his April 25th show, He stumbled on the stage 1st set completely wasted. Inside heads said opiates which looked to be about right. He couldn't talk or stand in one place. His tunes were as lifeless as he was. In fact, "Me and my Uncle" turned out to be an instrumental because he couldn't remember any portion of the lyrics. Second set he started off OK but it didn't take too long for him to be leaned over in a nod again. After falling back against the amps twice, he did a full blown face plant right on stage. Didn't even go to his knees... just fell over like a bowling pin. The band continued to play - crew came out to help him up and got him a chair but he pushed it out of the way and tried to stand on his own again only to start stumbling again. After some pushing on stage between him and crew he finally sat down and finished out the tune all slumped over in the chair. They took a quick break and Phil came out to apologize and said they were going to finish out the set without him. He gave the excuse that Bob hurt his shoulder working out earlier but he no doubt hurt it from the fall.

without jerry garcia, bob weir is nothing. he's ok, but nothing like the grateful dead.

i remember seeing them plenty of times at the coliseum back in the day...interesting, good times, a lot of laughs at the people who went to those concerts.

Can't deal with the hippie scene. The stench of body odor, pot & patchouli oil combined is enough to make one sick.

Just thought of that olfactory ambiance makes me sick. Those hippie chicks cannot keep their snatches maintained either.

Yuck. Unbathed, unshaven. More hair on their legs pits than on their heads. The more they dance & twirl, the more they expel their own brand of stench. Half of them have no idea where the hell they even are. Living on Ramen noodles & dirt weed. And shifty? They'll just as soon lift your wallet as they would preach their "peace & love" schtick. There's a reason why the whole movement died out in the early 70's. It's not a sustainable lifestyle.

Saw the show the night before Bobby fell over. That show was as good as any I have seen. For most, Further is the best music any collection of the band has played since Jerry was healthy.
Lot of rumors about Bobby, but nothing solid. I hope whatever it is was temporary and he's back in fine form soon. Looking forward to their return to the northeast in July.
You guys are pretty rough on the hippie scene. Frankly, it really doesn't exist anymore and the scene at the Capital Theater really wasn't like that at all.
As always, I had a great time and lots of laughs. At the break I went outside for fresh air, but that's where everyone went to smoke cigarettes since it was not allowed in the theater. If ever there was an oxymoron it was fresh air.
Then there was my knucklehead buddy who after returning to our standing area where we were in the orchestra during the first set, gives this guy that we had been goofing with during the first set a huge hug and shake and says "were back". Only to find out that it was not the same guy.
Always a hoot ....

sad to see so many people with so much negativity. if you don't like it, don't go! we don't want you there. i think there's a deeper issue involved with these people. when i started seeing the dead in '81 everyone said they aren't what they usta be. newspapers would trash them after epic shows; saw great shows and not so great shows. if you want to hear a canned, rehearsed, same show nite after nite, note for note, just like the alblum, then ... thats the beauty of taking chances and pushing the envelope, it doesn't always work. but when it all comes together like it did in A.C. WOW!!!

Hippies are mostly vile transient criminals. The pacifist hippie image is what people believe, but in actuality hippies are selling their a$$es for drug money or robbing people.

A recent case in point, is the well armed transient called "Kai the Hatchet Wielding Hitchhiker." He murdered one of his johns in his homosexual prostitution misadventures and then claimed he was raped on his Facebook page. He has a history of claiming he was sexually assaulted, even by mental health hospital staff.
