In my job as a nutritionist, and at my church I have seen this Zeal for Life thing take off and run rampant in church/performance marketing stardom. After having a patient who was having some adverse effects came to see me, I eventually researched this product in it's entirety. It is hard to find any unbiased reviews of the ingredients, and truth is, the zurvita marketing team works hard to disguise them and claim it is a cure for a myriad of diseases. Heck, these guys won't even tell you the amounts of ingredients that are in them. I thought something had to be done, so I did extensive research on the product. I found it to be packed with abortifacients, laxatives, potential hepatoxins, and substances that can cause heart trouble. My answer was to make a blog about it.

There you will find scientific studies to support the claims and potential negative side effects of Zeal for Life and the Zeal for Life challenge line. I hope you all enjoy the information. It took quite a while to compile all of this information. The reason why I picked this supplement to target is because it spread through my church like wild fire, and there were people who quit taking their prescriptions for the stuff, and put them selves in danger. I just wanted a little community awareness. If this finds it's way to your church, please try not to let it spread like mine did.

I think it messed up my heart. Ive been sick for 6 months after taking it. Seems like it may have effected my adrenal gland. I get heart palpitations all the time and my blood pressure is all over the place. I took zeal for life for three weeks then developed heartpalpitations and shakey hands. I went to the ER they said I was fine. I continued to take zeal until it was gone then symptoms went away. I didnt link it to the zeal, this awesome vitamin everyone at church is taking. A year later I got some more Zeal. After 3 weeks the same thing happened. I imeadiatley stopped taking it but have been sick ever since. Its been 6 months :( heart palpitations, up and down blood pressure, even got dizzy the other day. Really scared. :( It wasnt the guranna in the Zeal because the first time I tried it it was garanna free.

I know someone who was on the heart transplant list, and since being on Zeal, she has been removed. Her cardiologist doesn't need to see her for a year. Zeal has natural caffiene. I am not a doctor, but issues you are describing may be because you have a sensitivity to caffiend. And, I don't see anywhere in the Zeal literature where it claims to heal any disease. It is like any type of supplement, certain people may experience some side effects.

Zeal did mess up my heart. I never had heart trouble but got severely sick while taking it. It caused me to develop heart murmurs and I suffer from chest pains all the time still. Im not sick anymore but my heart will never be the same. The sad part is...i was a consultant. Not anymore. Zeal will kill someone some day.

FYI... even the guarana-free formula has caffeine. It has green tea extract AND red ginsing. BOTH are stimulants! I had to quit taking it because it was giving me insomnia and ADHD symptoms. Not fun!

I was a consultant too... I did NOT notice my joint pain any better, I did NOT notice my allergies getting better, I did NOT notice any improvement in ANYTHING. I did notice that I didn't feel well while taking it. The first time I took it, I ended up in the ER with chest pains. It gave me insomnia and made me feel like I had ADHD. Maybe some people can take it and THINK it's making their health improve but it did NOT agree with my body.

When I woke up this morning, I did a google search because of some side effects I'm having that I believe are from using Zeal Wellness and I found your blog. I am no longer going to take that product. Maybe some people are unaffected by it but not me. I do have a sensitivity to caffeine and stimulants so I tried the guarana-free version but I noticed that green tea extract and red ginsing are in the ingredient list. Now why would they do that??? I've been having problems with insomnia, which has never been a problem for me, and during the day I feel like I have ADHD and just feel weird. I can't seem to focus on anything and I've become very forgetful. I also can't take vitamins because of the effects on my liver so I'm thinking Zeal may have affected that too. So I'm done with it. I'm drinking a ton of water to try to flush it out of my body and I hope it hasn't done any permanent damage to my liver or my brain! I just wanted to thank you for writing your blog because it makes a lot of sense. I'm not necessarily a big advocate of prescription medications but at least they are controlled and tested before given out. People shouldn't blindly take a product just because someone says it's "all natural" or "healthy".

I agree! I am not a nutritionist but I am very observant and intuitive. An acquaintance who is overweight and has been overweight for along time was trying to sell this Zeal product to me. Before making a decision, I decided to research in the web. Zeal for life.com is the typical page that made sure to use advertisement images to attract overweight, depressed communities but has no strong fundamental information of its contents. It is all pure 'blah, blah.blah and pictures of a flat belly with a measuring tape, and pictures of the "creators" in white lab jackets, suit up and of course the personal trainer its a must be included for this type of scam. Sad...what money does...

Zurvita is beginning to enter the El Paso TX market. I responded to a radio ad, and listened to their pitch. The Zeal samples I received seem to smell odd to me when the bottle is opened. The stuff appears to have some sort of effect on my lower bowels? I am not going to get involved with the company, nor shall I finish using the samples.

I took this product for 3wks, I felt great, more energy ect... About a week after I stopped taking it I started to feel extremely ill. Extreme dizziness, heart palpitations, I'm so weak, fatigued. I seriously feel as if I've been poisoned. I've been to the doctor twice and they can't tell me anything. The best way to describe the way I feel is the worst hang over known to man kind lasting for 2wks. I've literally been in bed for 2wks. I didn't think it had anything to do with the zeal I wad taking until doing a little research and noticing other people having these exact same symptoms. STAY AWAY FROM THIS STUFF! I'm praying this goes away, I can't continue feeling this way. I can't take care of my family, my daughter...this is the worst feeling! This company needs to be stopped!!!

So I've been taking Nutrilite for years as a supplement to a healthy diet. It's Certified organic, they control the process from seed to distribution, it's certified NSF, Kosher and Halal. And certified by third party testing.

That said, I was approached by someone who reps for Zeal. I've heard all the claims. "Cures allergies, makes your joints feel better, gives you energy and aides in weight loss and you'll feel it in the first 20 minutes" Well... Honestly, I didn't want any. I already feel great, I already take an organic for allergies, and I already have energy because I eat well and take a supplement that actually HAS in it what the bottle says it has in it. But I thought "what the heck, I'll NOT take my stuff for 24 hours and see what happens, see if there is a difference in how I feel." Twenty minutes after I took it... they weren't lying, I felt different. I was shaking like a leaf and I felt totally on edge. It felt like I'd had four or five big cups of coffee and no breakfast. Ugh! Now, here I am 8 hours later and I feel like I'm going to fall asleep. I'm crashing hard and I don't know how I'm going to make it to the gym, or make dinner for the fam. So the test is done, not sure why I bothered. It's back to my Nutrilite tomorrow. And back to certified organic so that I know EXACTLY what's in it instead of "what the heck is in this stuff".

To be fair, your experience with feeling bad could be explained if you went from doing nothing nutritionally as in supplementing to adding Zeal and then going off of it. I know we have a 10 day Nutrilite challenge. You take it for 10 days then stop. When you stop, you feel tired and draggy. An that just shows people how supplementation can give them what their body needs. Proper supplementation can most definitely change how you feel for the better on a daily basis. However with the Zeal I think it's a combo of some supplementation (although natural as opposed to organic, there is a difference) and lots of caffeine...in face, I think loads of caffeine, so that may explain why it had that effect.

So it's back to Nutrilite to me. And yes, I do rep for the company, but we do not make medical claims, and will not. And we don't push product. If people are looking for something or have an issue that a supplement can help them with...(i.e. glucosamine for joint health, Vitamin D, Valerian root for sound sleep and so on), i've got it, but I'm not gonna jam it down someones throat, if they need it, or are interested in supplementation, they know I've got it and we can talk if they want to.:)

Sheesh, how can my hands be shaking but I feel like I'm dragging? Crazy. No more zeal for me.

I don't think so....I've been taking zeal for 5 months now and my whole family and we're loving it.we introduced this to people who have health issue and they're loving it too.people who complains about it are those people who doesn't want to spend their money for thier health. All I can say is...look after of your pain.Everybody is going to die and we want to die in peace and not in pain..

it's true that when you go to your Doctor, what they gave you is prescription.Prescription will prolonged your life but look at the side effect of it.In the long run you ended up taking a lot of prescriptions till you suffer from pain.Hopefully by the time they die, they die in peace not in pain.

I love this product and if had great success on it with blood pressure blood sugar and cholesterol. My sister who has endocarditis and adhesions and lived her life and her bedroom because she couldn't move after three weeks of taking Zeal found her life back it is now been nine months and no side effects doctors have cut her medications in half and we all have her life back I'm not a nutritionist but I believe we cannot in this world eat what we need and if we can find a product that is easy to take and works why knock it. Most of these people who have side effects usually had them before just blame them on the zeal because it's new I for one will never take my family off of it
