The irony here is while conservative thought that the republican party would put principle over politics, and push for real cuts, especially since the next election is almost 2 years away,

the republican party took advantage of the fact that the next election is almost 2 years away to pass this bill of tax increases and pork.

It is time for the conservatives to realize that this is what the republican party is really about, they are just liberal/lite, they want to tax and spend as much as any liberal, in order to payoff their family members and friends who are lobbyists and other opportunists at the taxpayers expense.

the republicans had an opportunity to show their true colors with the next election so far away, and they did so, with a big dose of tax and spend.

the republican party now needs to go the way of the whigs.

TEA = Taxed Enough Already

The TEA Party got it right four years ago, and has been more than right ever since. And it is NOT going away.

Reality is a bitch. The Dem/RINO one-party farce is down the fiscal drain.

The irony is that as bad as the republicans are,

the democrats rammed through this big tax hike, already a good chunk of the money on payoffs to banks, hollywood and corporate donors,

and they are actually cheering about it,

I guess that is the contrast,

democrats are tax and spend and proud of it,

republicans are tax slightly less and spend slightly less and hiding it.

When all paths lead to disaster "doing nothing" is the best plan.

Every time Bozo wants something, it's got to be "TODAY!!", or else. And no fair reading the bill first.

Kind of in a rush, for a guy who takes three week vacations on our nickle.
Just unbelievable

Pardon me - allow me to review.

I response to another poster's entirely proper ripping of Obama for handing the keys to the Treasury over to Wall Street (again), you posted:

"Do you mean, much like the deals Bush/Cheney made for all their corporate and big oil buddies?"

Which I read as the same old tedious Bush OCD - the Tourette's of the progressive Dem partisal tool.

Was I being unfair? Hmmmm ...

Nope - I'm going to have to stand by my characterization of your "two wrongs make a right/their side did it so that makes it OK for my guys to screw the American taxpayer for persoanal political gain also" argument as morally and ethically bankrupt nonsense, and reactionary partisan spew. You might just as well have justified this corrupt performance by the current Administration and Congress by trotting out the Harding Administration's ethical standards.

Which I abbreviate as "Bush Bush Bush WAAAH WAAAH WAAAAAHHHH!!" whenever I encounter it.

(And sorry - no 'turn on' detected ... you flatter yourself)

If you are a proponent of the payoffs to wall street, hollywood, and ge just write it, it has nothing to do with Bush.
I am against taking taxpayer dollars and giving them to rich special interest groups and companies, like Goldman sachs, morgan stanley, citicorp, hollywood, and GE,
you are obviously a advocate of them.
Always thought it is ironic that the democrats don't ever come and say what they stand for in the actual election, they just spout names like Romnesia, hide their real motives, and then claim a mandate if they win after these tactics which are backed up by the intellectually deficient and corrupt mainstream media.
I doubt the election would have been the same if the democrats had been forthcoming about their goals of taxing more to pay off wealthy bankers, hollywood, and taxevading conglomerates like GE, google, and their ilk.
A lesson in economics.
Learning from Obituaries....
It seems that every couple of days New Orleans loses one of its treasured ENTREPRENEURS .
Lets get the players straight before we go on with this.
interpretation of data not verified but...

His Daughters: Deidra Allen

Will Thompson
So, lets see now....
His Father, Burnell Thompson, fathered his brothers Burnell, Edgar and his sister Lekiksha.
His Stepfather, Bruce Gordy, fathered his Sister Katina.
His Mother, Esther Allen, must have been unwed when she gave birth to: Larmondo, Mattnell, Burnell and Lester.
We don't know who fathered Wil Willis and Jessica Willis, or Dante and Reshe Edwards.
Lets hope sisters Shannail Craig and Gwendolyn Carter are married.
GOT THE ABOVE ALL STRAIGHT?

NOW, THE REST OF THE STORY
He was 25 and had 3 sons and 6 daughters.
NINE welfare recipients collecting $950 each per month.....
That equals $8,550 a month !!!
Now add Food Stamps,
Free medical,
Free school lunches,
and on and on .......
Do the math...$102,000+/year.
Anyone out there, sittin' on their butt while reading this e-mail,
making
A HUNDRED GRAND a year doing nothing?
Now that, to me, is a real Entrepreneur.
(ALSO, BECAUSE OF THEIR FATHERS DEATH, ALL OF THE KIDS WILL COLLECT
SOCIAL SECURITY UNTIL THEY ARE 18).
EVEN BETTER...IF "FLAIR'S"
THIRTEEN BROTHERS & SISTERS
FOLLOWED HIS ENTREPRENEURIAL
STRATEGY--THAT'S AN ADDITIONAL
$1.3 MILLION PER YEAR
BUT WAIT...THERE'S MORE!
IF ALL THIRTEEN BROTHERS AND SISTERS CAN
DUPLICATE HIS FEAT OF 9 WELFARE STRATEGISTS,
THAT BREEDS 117 NEW RECIPIENTS COLLECTING $100,000/YR!!...OR AN ADDITIONAL
$11,700,000PER YEAR...
&THAT'S ONE DAMN FAMILY
(And it demands 100% of the Taxes Paid by 1,000 average taxpayers).
And THAT is why this once great country is
BANKRUPT!!
