You want truth? The truth is that you are not even "Liberal." Thomas Jefferson was a liberal.
You want to take rights away from law-abiding citizens. That is not liberal, that is tyrannical.
You cheer for the disarming of citizens because you have no knowledge of, nor comprehension of history. You have been programed by the idiotic propaganda that we call the media.
You are small-minded and thus choose to vicariously feel powerful by supporting a totalitarian, nanny-state, overbearing government.
What you fail to realize is that by disarming the people, you give the government a monopoly on power and force. When that happens, the government has no reason to fear the people. If the government has no reason to fear the people, they have no reason to serve us.
Soviet Russia didn't disarm the people to prevent school shootings. Communist Russia didn't disarm the people to prevent theater shootings. Hitler didn't disarm the people to fight crime.
That is not to say that your precious democrats currently trying to disarm us have the same intent as Hitler or Mao. Maybe they are just fools like you. But if they do manage to disarm us... someone like Hitler or Mao WILL come along and exploit the fact that we are nothing more than sitting ducks.
In addition, a gun confiscation will not make anyone safer on the street level. Only the legal guns owned by responsible law-abiding citizens will be taken off the street. The guns illegally possessed by criminals (ya know... the people that shoot people) will still be out there. Those criminals, by the way, will not only be armed with a gun. They will be armed with the knowledge that there is no chance that you could defend yourself. Good luck.
"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms, disarm only those who are neither inclined, nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants. They serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."
Thomas Jefferson, 1764
The term "Liberal", in the context of the late 18th Century, referred to LIBERTY, otherwise known as freedom with responsibility.

Modern day so-called Liberals want the State to dictate every aspect of individual and societal life, under the guises of "safety" and "fairness."

They have perverted the meaning of the Declaration and Constitution.

Let me say this. I AGREE with you all that guns are not really the problem. The problem is the kind of people this country is producing. Stupid parents or lack of parents altogether. Marriage and loyalty and raising decent kids and teaching them right from wrong seems to be a thing of the past. There's the problem, not the guns.
But, because of these pissed off, violent crazies out there, there has to be some kind of control to keep dangerous toys away from them. How, I have no idea.

Law abiding citizens have every right to own any damn thing they want. I am for making it a little more difficult for any maniac to go buy any damn gun they feel like. So calm the hell down. Oh and BTW - why don't you go outside and play hide and go fk yourself.<quoted text>

Your credibilty is now zero.

Political "correctness", a perverted sense of "fairness"- where a single "offended" person removes the right of the pursuit of Happiness from the vast majority-, and "progressive" attitudes are producing the kind of people that are causing the problems.

The lack of "nuthouses" and the liberal (cough) application of mind-altering pharmaceuticals produce people prone to act out violently.

Your blundering bumburg will have you eating only vitimins and water while the bad guys whom has more rights than someone protecting them selves with a gun will retire in prison. These blame it on every thing but the criminals who dont have to pay for their crimes will rule the world because you people wont stand up for freedom and justice for the common man who belives in the constitution and the bill of rights.

Completely agree with your diagnosis, Doctor - you've nailed it.

However - I am puzzled by your prescription.

Having accurately diagnosed the disease & its root cause, why would you rush to treat mere symptoms instead of pressing to cure the underlying disease as the first priority?

Instead of encouraging Washington pols and bureaucrats to dilly-dally and showboat around in the same old tiresome and pointless way, jerking us around with divisive and basically silly arguments over more gun control that only distract attention from the real problem, whaty should we not instead be screaming at Obama and Congress to restore and strengthen the American family unit?

Why shouldn't every kid in America be entitled to grow up in a secure, stable, loving family with TWO MARRIED parents present 24/7/365 in their lives to nuture healthy, responsible, respectful, decent, hard-working young citizens who know right from wrong, and do right?

Fcuk more 'gun control.' That's a lame-azz dodge, and we're letting these Washington wastes of skin get away with it. Why aren't we beating these pols up, down, and often to get off their collective azzes and fix the American FAMILY?

You also nailed it. What passes for leadership in this country is pathetic, yet these bozos still get elected. Sorry to say but people in this country these days only live in America but they are not Americans. I hate gov't control - can't even have a damn cig in an open field on a windy day anymore.

What is Congress doing about this?

Why isn't the media screaming about this?

Where's the outrage?

Gun control and new gun laws will do nothing to prevent gun crime. Absolutely nothing.

If you want an expansion of gun laws to prevent gun crimes, that is the exact equivalent of wanting to fight drunk driving by making it harder for sober people to buy a car.

The law abiding will follow the new laws. The criminals (The people that shoot people!) will still possess guns and will continue to use them. In all likelihood they will be used more frequently because the criminals will know that there is little to no chance of a good guy with a gun to protect himself/others being around to thwart the crime.

There is no outrage. Oh except for you. You're outraged. But what else is new? Every time you go off your meds you're outraged. Try upping your dosage.

And you're just fine with 26% of American kids growing up in single-parent settings; 75% of black kids growing up with one parent.

That's perfectly normal as far as the Brooklyn Bonehead is concerned, eh? No problem. Explains a lot, actually.
