It would have worked a lot better if Republicans and their one sided political rag called Fixed News hadn't told every lie they could dream up about it and opposed it every way they could.

In spite of their lies and total opposition it is the law of the land and is slowing working.

I for one don't think that Republicans "if" they get in a position to repeal it will want the resulting mess they would bring down on themselves.

"If" they do ever get in a position to repeal it then they will likely make a bid deal about how "they" fixed it.

Fixed News and their political carnival barkers will do the spin for them.

Likely they will make Obamacare a issue in the mid-terms this time and then shut up. By the next Presidential election they will likely forget they ever opposed it.

If they are willing to still run against Obamacare in 2016 let them have at it and see where it gets them.

Even some of the real believers are starting to see the light.

Someone said:

"In today's political environment, anything that takes more than one sentence to explain can be defeated by a one-sentence lie. The opposition to this law is mostly not based on principled positions but rather largely on general opposition to the president."

Regardless of how many wing-nut lies have been knocked down on this forum they still repeat the same lies or just switch to a new reason.

The numbers are made up. They haven't paid yet. The numbers are cooked. There is always some point they will present until it is knocked down then they will come up with another.

Mostly its just that they can't stand to see a half white man succeed as President. Look at all the crap they made up about him and still do.

Amazing to me how they can totally ignore the mess Bush/Cheney created and dumped into Obama's lap to fix.

HEALTH CARE BY THE NUMBERS

•8 million people signed up for private insurance in the Health Insurance Marketplace. For states that have Federally-Facilitated Marketplaces, 35 percent of those who signed up are under 35 years old and 28 percent are between 18 and 34 years old, virtually the same youth percentage that signed up in Massachusetts in their first year of health reform.
•3 million young adults gained coverage thanks to the Affordable Care Act by being able to stay on their parents plan.
•3 million more people were enrolled in Medicaid and CHIP as of February, compared to before the Marketplaces opened. Medicaid and CHIP enrollment continues year-round.
•5 million people are enrolled in plans that meet ACA standards outside the Marketplace, according to a CBO estimate. When insurers set premiums for next year, they are required to look at everyone who enrolled in plans that meet ACA standards, both on and off the Marketplace.
•5.7 million people will be uninsured in 2016 because 24 States have not expanded Medicaid.
HEALTH CARE COST GROWTH IS LOWEST IN DECADES
THE SECURITY OF HEALTH INSURANCE FOR MILLIONS OF MIDDLE CLASS FAMILIES

•Up to 129 million Americans with pre-existing conditions – including up to 17 million children – no longer have to worry about being denied health coverage or charged higher premiums because of their health status.
•71 million Americans with private insurance have gained coverage for at least one free preventive health care service such as mammograms, birth control, or immunizations in 2011 and 2012.
•In 2013, 37 million people with Medicare received at least one preventive service at no out of pocket cost.
•Approximately 60 million Americans have gained expanded mental health and substance use disorder benefits and/or federal parity protections.
•Since the health care law was enacted, almost 8 million seniors have saved nearly $10 billion on prescription drugs as the health care law closes Medicare’s “donut hole.”
•105 million Americans no longer have to worry about having their health benefits cut off after they reach a lifetime limit.

Facts and statists are relevant they are kind of hard to just brush aside with a one line comment about cut and paste.

People that can just brush aside and ignore logic, reason and real provable facts presented in an intelligent manner are not worth debating.

It always amazes me that people will accept and believe what they want to and reject the obvious in light of the facts, proof and what makes sense derived from what is logical based upon known facts & proof.

Amazing statement from a one liner. You are more than welcome to post up some facts and statists other than a one liner to tear the facts apart. Please don't just repeat your usual nonsense.

It is real easy to say Obamacare will crash and burn but it certainly helps if you can justify that statement with facts and clear points.

Facts and statists are relevant they are kind of hard to just brush aside with a one line comment about cut and paste.

Half you pay you say???????? Sounds like Jesus might want to talk to you about stretching the truth.

Would you be willing to provide some details?.
Income
Dependents
current insurance carrier.
Where did you purchase your insurance.
Details of policy coverage??

It is possible that he is telling the truth. I know someone who is not too savvy that simply walked into a local insurance agent's office, asked what insurance cost, and bought a family policy. Never asked whether or not he qualified for expanded Medicaid or the subsidy to help pay for coverage.

mine went up 40%; but of course there are certain retards on Topix who think your making the whole thing up. Your spot on with your assessment of this phony President; all he does is fingerpoint at any American who opposes him and takes no accountability of himself.

That is a pretty amazing post for you to make. Again I find even your case hard to believe.

You rattle your jaws all the time on this forum.
"If" and I again say "if" you are telling the truth about a 40% hike in policy rate for the same insurance policy you would have been presenting the details long ago.

Do it like this: I had a policy from insurance company xxxx that had the following benefits ----with yearly caps of --- and life time caps of ------ and a co-pay of..---- and live in SD. If the policy has a generic name tell us and how much you paid each month in premium costs.

After the ACA was passed, did the policy meet the standard basic requirements or was it a "junk" insurance policy? Did your insurance company leave the old policy in place and raise your premiums 40%?

Were you required to purchase a new policy and did you get it off the exchange? What State and what policy? What is your income level and number of dependents? Did you get any federal subsidy?

It would seem that a fine fellow with a honest background of posting would have presented this story long ago as a factual example of why you oppose Obamacare.

You give me enough information and I would back check it with your insurance company.

Please give me/us all the fine little details so that your claim could be double checked and verified.

Don't leave anything out that would help us check the issue out.

A rate increase of 40% on the same policy is outrageous and should be checked into and made public.

But you have to be forthcoming with the factual information to back up what you posted.

I'm even sure that those who hate Obamacare would love for you to factually & truthfully prove up on your personal experience so that they refer to it as a provable example of one of the failures of Obamacare.

It is amazing that you have held this personal story back when you could have presented all the proof and details long ago on the issue of Obamacare.

Now I know that only Obama stretches the truth so you have a golden opportunity to present your personal case and back it up with actual facts that could be checked into.

What more could you want????

Based on his past history of proving up on a point there will be nothing worth while posted to support his claim.

My guess is that he drank too much beer and all we will get (if anything) is some mumbo jumbo that no one could fact check.

Likely he will blame Obama because he can't give us the facts and details of his own case.

Based on past history, this dried up bag of wind will continue to rely on Google and watch 100 hours of Cable News a week that only reports how much water Obama walks on daily.

My guess is the cable box is hooked directly up to the thinking part of this idiot's brain because all this person post's is a rehash of the nightly news

Likely the posting will continue to be cut and paste material in 99% of the content until Election Day. Then when this retard doesn't get the desired results after the Election, the content will turn to hate because the nightly news will report it that way

i find that find to believe.....i have the same insurance i've had for years and my premium actually went down alittle.....
the only people who are complaining about the ACA are people who never had to pay for insurance before....i'm not saying many jobs or companies didn't increase their costs to their employees, but if employees had been paying towards their benefits all long, they wouldn't have noticed much of a difference.

the only people who seem to be paying biggest increases are the people who never paid for it before.....
