Nothing like Christmas in New York City. Can't even imagine celebrating Christmas during Australian heatwave.

Santas sleigh, prancin through snow, in his thick red furry suit. Reindeers from north pole.

Meanwhile a Sydney kid is sweatin his ass in 100 degree temps REALIZING theres no bloody Santa for Australian kids.
Santa only rewards winners. American kids. Not speech impaired losers from downunder. You get coal and chinese rice in your stocking.

You can keep the snow, I'll take the heat. I love the Corona beer ad with the Christmas lights in the palm tree.

Do you mean Staten Island? That's part of the city.

Actually I was referring to all those that lost their homes and jobs watching a tree going up in an area that holds a handful of Americans who have the majority of the money, who have all but killed off the American dream for the rest of the country, getting to celebrate Christmas as they always have. Lucky them eh!

Ah, I see your point. In defense, Manhattan has to cater to a large number of tourists. Radio City Music Hall and Times Square are near Rockefeller Center.

Yes I just thought that the richies never miss out in their areas, do they?....I do understand that tourism keeps the party going, it is a must, but at this time of the year those hit by the sub prime mortgage debarcle, along with those still suffering the effects of Katrina and oil spills along with the millions of poor, might be feeling a tad blue watching it light up one of the wealthiest cities of the world, when they themselves have no hope of it affecting them...
