Rose? You remember when I was introducing you to the Religious Right movement? Back when the IRS was in the news? I told you the Religious Right is on a mission to overturn the gov't entities that actually work to protect the people, that they had the IRS in their sights?

You had not believed me. Do you remember?

Well, here's bona fide proof positive from another thread in this forum. "Abolishing the Internal Revenue Service and ending Obamacare are part of the fight against Democrats, Cruz said."

Exactly so; just like a computer. It can have the most up-to-date programs installed, but if the hard drive isn't running or working properly, neither are those programs.
Sensory information goes to the thalamus, which then sends the information on - through it's thalamocortical projections - to the FIRING "precocious" (i.e. Precocious: "exhibiting mature qualities at an unusually early age") nerve cells in the subplate zone.

You're comparison of the preborn's brain to an inanimate computer is not only disrespectful to human life, but it's moronic.

YOU cited an article that negates your theory. Many states are listening to the growing science and giving deference to innocents. Take Texas, for example.

Pay attention. Read the article w/ unbiased lenses.

First point, as has been repeated time and again, the developing fetal brain does not function properly until close to and following delivery. The thalamus, while developing, also is not functioning properly. It can't since it doesn't even receive all *it* needs to function properly until closer to term.

As I've said and proven with various links throughout the years.

Second point, I do not know why you insist on believing bullsh*t regarding fetal brain development. It's as if you *want* fetuses able to feel pain so your twisted imagination can run wild instead of being relieved.

"The thalamus derives its blood supply from four arteries including the polar artery (posterior communicating artery), paramedian thalamic-subthalamic arteries, inferolateral (thalamogeniculate) arteries, and posterior (medial and lateral) choroidal arteries.[4] These are all derived from the vertebrobasilar arterial system except the polar artery."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thalamus

"The development of the PCA in the fetal brain occurs relatively late and arises from the fusion of several embryonic vessels near the caudal end of the posterior communicating artery.

The PCA begins as a continuation of the posterior communicating artery in 70-90% of fetuses with the remainder of PCAs having a basilar origin. The fetal carotid origin of the PCA usually regresses as the vertebral and basilar arteries become dominant and it finds a new origin in the basilar artery. About 20% of adults retain PCA origin from the posterior communicating artery, and in turn, the internal carotid arteries.[3]"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Posterior_commun...

(take your rude name calling BS and stick it exactly where your imagination regarding Cptr consistently wanders)

I hope at some future point, you find something regarding Religious Right interesting and do further research on it. Your words above have missed my point by miles and seem based in denial. One of the founders of The Religious Right is Pat Robertson. If your interest is ever piqued out of denial, please start with him.

FTR, I am not trying to change your mind or your stance on abortion. I am trying to help you see why and how it's gotten to this point even though Roe v Wade was decided way back in 1973 and should be a done deal.

Rose, again, my point is that The Religious Right is a real group. You seem to deny its influence across America or its true goal of creating a theocracy.

"The Christian right has been a notable force in both the Republican party and American politics since the late 1970s, when Baptist pastor Jerry Falwell and other Christian leaders began to urge conservative Christians to involve themselves in the political process. In response to the rise of the Christian right, the 1980 Republican Party platform assumed a number of its positions, including dropping support for the Equal Rights Amendment and adding support for a restoration of school prayer; abortion was also opposed.[4][5] Since about 1980, the Christian right has been associated with several institutions including the Moral Majority, the Christian Coalition, Focus on the Family and the Family Research Council.[12][13]"

"The Christian right believes that separation of church and state is not explicit in the American Constitution, believing instead that such separation is a creation of what it claims are activist judges in the judicial system.[59][60][61] In the United States, the Christian right often supports their claims by asserting that the country was "founded by Christians as a Christian Nation."[62][63] Members of the Christian right take the position that the Establishment Clause bars the federal government from establishing or sponsoring a state church (e.g. the Church of England), but does not prevent the government from acknowledging religion. The Christian right points out that the term "separation of church and state" is derived from a letter written by Thomas Jefferson, not from the Constitution itself.[64][65][66] Furthermore, the Alliance Defense Fund takes the view that the concept of "separation of church and state" has been utilized by the American Civil Liberties Union and its allies to inhibit public acknowledgment of Christianity and restrict the religious freedoms of Christians.[67]"

"The modern roots of the Christian right's views on sexual mores were evident in the 1950s, a period in which many Christian conservatives viewed sexual depravity as not only excessive, but in fact a danger that would result in the impending destruction of the country.[8]:30 Beginning in the 1970s, conservative Christian protests against sexual immorality began to surface, largely as a reaction to the "permissive sixties" and an emerging prominence of sexual liberties arising from Roe v Wade and the gay rights movement. Christians began to "wake up" and make sexuality issues a priority political cause.[8]:28

The Christian right has managed to gain a foothold as the "self-appointed conscience of American society". During the 1980s, the movement was largely dismissed by political pundits and mainstream religious leaders as "a collection of buffoonish has-beens". Later, it re-emerged, better organized and more focused, taking firm positions against abortion, pornography, homosexuality and feminism.[10][79]:4"

Do you defend the life of fertilized ova which are daily flushed at in vitro fertilization clinics, because their parents find them extraneous?

Do you defend the lives of the thousands of these fertilized ova which are suspended in frozen animation, awaiting the day when they can be implanted, and ultimately discarded when they are no longer 'viable'?

Do you defend the right of Nadya Suleman (otherwise known as 'Octomom') and others who have large families they cannot support by themselves, to rely on public assistance to house, clothe, feed and provide medical care to the kids?

Do you defend the lives of children in America who are starving, abused, or abandoned, by protesting overseas adoptions?

Do you defend the life of those who commit heinous crimes?

Unless you can answer these questions with an unhesitating YES, then you are not "Pro-Life". You are "Pro-fetus" or "Pro-what-life-you-consid er-important."
