You're lying. No hospital, hospice OR nursing home would allow that. They would be banned from seeing him.

You DO understand that she hadn't "eaten" in over a decade, right?
You seem to think that she was munching down on cheezeburgers and chicken and it was being held back from you. You are dumber than dirt.
I must admit its funny when you and your kind continue to mouth off when you CLEARLY have ZERO idea what the hell you're talking about.
I deal with families who try to make medical orders for the patient that are detrimental to the patient. This type of family brings medicine and food from outside that the patient shouldn't have, insists that the patient is experiencing symptoms that the patient denies, etc. I know this usually comes from place of love, but it is not useful.

<quoted text>So, you are for Euthanasia, you are not pro life at all. Do you know what Christ said about the most vulnerable? What ever you do to the least of your brother, you do to Me ...so in other words you are putting Christ to death. Every life is important, from conception to natural death.
Schiavo finally was allowed a natural death. She was brain dead, and would have died much earlier, naturally, if they hadn't kept her alive using unnatural methods. She wasn't killed. You don't know what you are talking about.

No, she died of dehydration. The body can survive for weeks without food. Again, you don't know what you are talking about.

It happened about 8 years ago in a nursing home in mempis tn. I watched this old woman and her daughter give the man jello, and thought they knew what they were doing. The note above bed said no solid foods, and I didn't know any different, but the man started to asperate and when the nurse came in, she asked what was his code? The wife said, what do you mean??? Is he dying, and the nurse said yes! She said please save him!?! They were all crying, well wife and 60 yo daughter, but I was on the other side of the room, waiting for another man to dye.
My story is true, whether you want to believe it or not :)
Yes, stupidity kills. You didn't get it, obviously.

Anyone can goggle it, and really it is up to which side they want. Plenty of support on both sides.
Many people in nursing homes, that need to be fed, and have no idea who they are. Again, she breathed, heart beated, she was starved /thirsted to death.
You are lumping two different types of long-term care patients together. This is what I do for a living and you really have no knowledge of the subject. You really are ignorant, boy. Stop, already.

The parents brought the circus right into their daughter's room. Thank goodness most people won't do that.

I was in a coma for 8 days. They got no reaction to stimulus until that 8th day even though they stopped the ketamine a day before. It wasn't until I was already waking up that some moron did a sternum rub; evidently my response was not at all kind. But while comatose, I didn't feel a bloody thing. The neural system may register stimulus, but you can't feel pain without consciousness.
rosesz wrote:

That is not exactly true in general. They routinely test for pain stimulus in coma. Etc.
it is one sign of progress or deterioration ..bottom of foot with sharp object..sternum with pressure..etc sometimes they react..
Also look for reaction of pupils.. sometimes not..No idea with TS

What do you mean you "can't find that info"??

I supplied you with a link to sptimes this morning. That link includes a link to findlaw. Both of these sites have archived all the Terri Schiavo information. And of oourse, the findlaw site has the legal documents included. In those documents you will find out how she was treated upon her initial hospitalization.

There had been a document from that hospital out and about back in the day which may also be included in the legal documents.

I am completely flabbergasted I've offered you links twice and both times you claim not to've seen them. Am I to believe these posts didn't post?

It's the uncertainty of death and loss, I think. I heard one person, at the funeral of their mother, ask how they could go on without her? What choice did they have?

<quoted text>I think I've already shared my Dad's story: After a long, gentle decline, Alzheimer's finally took away his ability to swallow and a MRSA infection dealt the final blow. He had a very clear advance directive. Yes, he died of dehydration, finally. His mind was gone; his heart chugged on for several days until it didn't. His was a natural death. Too many people misuse modern medicine to keep their loved ones bodies alive, just because they can. I see this futility a lot. It's pathetic and heartbreaking.
