Who is my neighbor, my brother or sister?

I had a neighbor who depended on her church for support when her husband passed away and she received an abundance of support, moving her belongings to another smaller apt., monies for her needs, occasionally she would do housework receiving some money, and the church even helped with expensive repairs to her car, she moved into a subsidized housing complex based on her income which was 0, and later qualified for social security and moved into a small apartment. She did change churches and is receiving support from this church also.
This type of support within the church is common and acceptable within church fellowship but how about supporting, sponsoring, and/or adopting a homeless person such as this woman was helped so can a single homeless person can get back on their feet with the caring support of a church community.
Jesus is inviting you to open your hearts in love for others, don't be too busy in this world to reach those who are just as worthy of his love too. Jesus said his brother, sister and mother are those who know Gods will and do it.
If every church in this city would support one homeless person through not only monetary but socialization by really caring to know him/her and being a listening ear in true fashion like that of the good Samaritan surrounding that person with a fellowship they can call reason their dilemma and seek just a kind spiritual uplifting and a true heart of caring and concern from a group then I know this city would be a better place for all.
People helping each other like the good samaritan did by giving of the heart and receiving heartfelt care not just I will support a center or a business that provides these needs, not always do they support that personal need that we so often receive in fellowship in church or from our friends and relatives, we need to remember who our neighbor is and be courageous to make a difference.
I was once in the military and as a military wife also you learn to make your neighbors as your family and help each other in need, whether it is babysitting, or a ride to a destination, a baby shower or cup of sugar. You learn to adapt even endure and homeless people are seeking to be happy as we all are, and they would enjoy helping someone too, if they could, just as we all want to give back but they need the tools and the means that we take for granted.
The bible talks about the heart and charity and love by giving of yourself you engage that spirit inside you that was given to you to know God more and you would be amazed how just lending yourself to whatever it is you can do would to bring you closer to the love God. Treating someone as you would like to treated in fellowship even if he is homeless as he needs help to succeed in being self-sufficient and prosper too.
Each one of us love our support from each other in the church (where two or more are gathered in Christ's name) love the homeless as we hold our love for one another in church buildings as Christ said in John-
A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.
Christ gave of himself to everyone and treated everyone equally, lovingly with grace and mercy along the way, even in the streets, we should be like Christ and not ignore the homeless at our gate like the rich man did unto Lazarus and reaped what he did sow.
