Conf 1 - unless they make a ton of mistakes in the final or have injuries I think Farmingdale has it locked up. It will be a close final but I think Farmingdale prevails.

I think Northport/Connetquot will be a lot closer than your prediction. As a matter of fact, I think Northport can beat them.

Division 1 has 6 teams that have legit chance to win Suffolk 1:

Commack
Connetquot
Sachem North
Floyd
Pat Med
Northport

Floyd still has to be favorite, but only because they are defending champs.

This is the first time in quite some time that a team or teams other than Floyd have a realistic chance. That is a good thing!

It does come down to the seedings. Your take is probably far better than mine.

These look like the best teams in each at this point.

Division 1
- Floyd, Connetquot, Sachem North.

Division II
- Riverhead, SW, West Islip.

Division III
- Miller Place, Bellport, Islip

Division IV
- Babylon only.

How would Babylon do against let's say an Islip?
How would Miller Place do against let's say a Riverhead?

I like East Meadow over Baldwin and you picked Baldwin. Why do you like Baldwin?

you like islip over bellport in the final?

Yes I do. I also think that if Sayville makes the playoffs, nobody will want to meet them again.

This was a tough game to predict, both teams are very close statistically on paper. So I decided to look at the three that both Baldwin and East Meadow lost to. Baldwin lost to Oceanside (5-1), Farmingdale (6-0), and Freeport (4-2). Those teams have a combined won/loss record of 15-3. Baldwin's points for/against those teams was 33-73. East Meadow lost to Syosset (4-2), Massapequa (4-2), and Oceanside (5-1). Those teams combined won/loss record was 13-5. EM points for/against those teams was 74-91. Even though EM averaged close to 25 points against those teams they also gave up 30 points. Baldwin only averaged 11 points a game, but only gave up 24 points against teams that had a better combined won/loss record. Based on defense I gave Baldwin the win by 7 points.

My brother feels that East Meadow should be given the seven points, feeling that EM will be able to run on Baldwin with their 279 carriers - 2,055 yards & 26 td's.

We'll find out who is correct soon enough.

#3 Riverhead had a very poor defensive game against #1 East Islip in the 50-36 loss, they did put up 36 points, but gave up 50. After the loss to East Islip, Riverhead went on a 4 game winning streak, defeating #11 Central Islip (48-8),#2 Bay Shore (40-18),#5 Smithtown West (21-0), and #7 Whitman (28-0). They did come back and beat Smithtown West 21-0 two weeks ago. Smithtown West beat both West Islip (50-20), and East Islip 35-21). If Riverhead plays like they did against Smithtown West they will beat West Islip.

Riverhead has a well balanced attack with passing the ball (77-113 1,020 yards 12 td's)and a running attack that has 219 carries 1,411 yards with 18 td's. Riverhead's points for/against 208-82, while West Islip's is 199-133. Riverhead's combined opponents won/loss record 18-18 and West Islip's is 19-17.

Bellport is without Connor Cipp due to an ejection, Huntington got severely out-physicaled last week, and I think lost 1 or 2 defensive starters. Bellport squeaks out a win if they contain Kocis.
