When are the conf 1 finals? Tuesday morning at 9am? Reworked my schedule and will be at Hofstra with my cow bell with the big O printed on the side tomorrow. Want to start to plan for next week.

Hofstra = fast Track = Baldwin speed= a win

Don't get ahead of yourself Sailor. I am worried about this week. Baldwin always seems to play their best game against Oceanside.
Although this is Baldwin's first trip to Hofstra in a few years, none of their players have played in the semis. This is the 3rd time for Buckley and Haskell and a number of them played in last year's semi vs. Freeport. Capone was suited up, but was injured and didn't play.
A couple of years ago I was talking to a few of the players who played against Farmingdale in the semis and they admitted that they were tight that night. I remember Heuer didn't look at all like the qb he was, playing on the big stage is a huge step up. So, experience is a factor, I believe.
I wouldn't be shocked if Baldwin comes away with a close win. Then again, it is tough to beat a team of equal or better ability, twice in a season.
If I see you and the cowbell, I'll stop by and introduce myself.
oceanside wins this one 28-20

As you can see I picked Orchard Park by 8 points. They are both close, I just feel Orchard Park has been more consistent in going further than CBA in the NYS Tournament in the last few years. OP won the Class AA Tournament in 2008 & 2011. The last time CBA won it was in 2004.
Now as far as #1 Shaker 10-0 points for/against 356-129. As you can see they are averaging close to 36 points a game while only giving up 13. Passing stats: 47/79 720 yards 9 td's. Their QB is Chris Landers(6'3" 187 lbs)who is also an excellent runner(67 carries for 447 yards and 9 td's). Rushing stats: 367 carries 2,778 yards 40 td's. Three good HB's in Ryan Griffin(131 carries for 1,009 yards 17 td's), Kenny Jackson(62 carries 679 yards 6 td's), and Tyler Oppelt(30 carries 279 yards 3 td's). Shaker's main receiver is Michael Lewis(18 receptions 307 yards 3 td's).
#7 New Rochelle 9-1 points for/against 204-41. NR is averaging just over 20 points a game while giving up just 4.
Again I had this as a close game with Shaker winning by 4. So either one of those games can go either way.
I noticed that a lot of the games NR did win 5 games with scores of 12-6, 14-0(2X), 6-0, 13-0 points, yet the last two teams they beat(Pine Bush, John Jay and North Rockland) they scored 94 points and only gave up 7?

So far after 9 weeks Callaway57 is:

Suffolk County - 114-29

Nassau County - 112-29

Total 226- 58

That's better than all the predictors at Newsday & MSG Varsity combined.

That's a fair question. First lets look at Section I Class AA, not exactly a big winning area as far as State Class AA titles, that goes to Section 5 & 6. New Rochelle pretty much is it. So lets begin with John Jay, they were 5-3 points for/against 132-105, averaged approximately 17 points while giving up 13, now North Rockland which was 7-2 points for/against 159-78, averaged 18 points while giving up 9. I don't think I need to continue on these two teams, I'm sure you got my point. Now as far as Section 9 Pine Bush which was 9-2 points for/against 357-124, they averaged a little over 32 points while giving up close to 12 points a game. The problem with Pine Bush is the were "one dimensional" they only ran the ball(passing 8/24 294 yards 3 td's - rushing 489 carries for 3,602 yards 42 td's). So they were averaging 327 yards a game w/4 td's rushing and only averaged 27 yards a game passing with 0.27 td's a game. So now if you were the head coach of New Rochelle what type of defense would you play against Pine Bush? Maybe 11 players in the box? If you guessed that you would be 100% correct. Pine Bush was held to 0/2- 0 yards passing and carried the ball 36 times for 133 yards 1 td.

It will be a little different going against Section 2 Shaker, which as I posted before is an excellent dual threat team. The last team to win a Class AA from Section 2 was West Genesee in 2007.

Come on you know it's true. Don't be so modest, look at last year.

Suffolk 145-40

Nassau 152-33

Total 297-73

The LIC's didn't pan out the way you predicted, the only one you got right was Glenn, but you got the Class AA, A, B, C, and D all correct. Don't forget I see you and your brother at a lot of the games.

As you know it's difficult to beat a team 2 times, yes it does happen i.e. Sachem East beating Northport twice. Oceanside is 8-1 points for/against 322-143 opponents combined won/loss record 33-43. Oceanside as you can see averaged close to 36 points a game while only giving up 16. They are an excellent dual threat team, passing 119/187 1,991 yards and 21 td's, rushing 238 carries 2,182 yards 21 td's. So they have average close to 221 yards and 2.3 td's passing and 242 yards 2.3 td's rushing.

Now Baldwin 7-2 points for/against 252-100, opponents won/loss record 43-33. They averaged 28 points while giving up 11 points a game. Passing 33/65 599 yards 9 td's, rushing 263 carries 2,004 yards 24 td's. Baldwin averaged 223 yards w/2.6 td's and passing they averaged 67 yards w/1 td a game. As you can also see their is a substantial difference in the strength of schedule, advantage Baldwin

In the first match up Oceanside was 18/30 194 yards and 1 td, and rushing 26 carries for 172 yards 2 td's. As you can see in this game Oceanside was below average in both the passing and rushing averages. Total offensive yardage 366 yards 3 td's.

Now Baldwin on the other hand was 2/4 54 yards 1 td passing and the rushing game produced 38 carries for 332 yards and 3 td's. Baldwin was a tad below their season average passing, but on the rushing average they were 110 yards over their 223 yards and 2.6 td's per game. Their defense did a really good job making Oceanside perform below their average. Baldwin lost one close game to East Meadow 9-7 and lost to the #1 see Farmingdale 21-6. I believe Baldwin will hold Oceanside below their season average again and win a close game.
