Its Ashame To See What Dumb Kids With Guns Will Do To People Who Are Working On Changing Their Lifes For The Better..Lord Was No Angel But He Was Extremely DIFFERENT..He Was Extremely Far From Average!! The Way He Carried Himself..The Respect He Held For The People He Respected & Looked Up To Showed That..He Served As An Inspiration To Many & To See His Life Taken So Tragically Is Heartbreaking..There Are So Many Rumors Of What Happened I'm Sure There Were People Who Know Exactly What Happened & Hopefully They Will Come Forward So That The People Responsible Can Have Justice Served To Them In The Court Of Law Not The Streets Of Roosevelt..I Know Its Gonna Be Hard But Everybody Hurting Right Now 'Hold Ya Heads'..& Try Not To Retaliate B/c The Only Result Is Going To Be More Bloodshed..For Roosevelt TO Be So Small There Is SO Much Going On With All This Gang Activity I Just Hope That Things Improve Soon Because It Makes No Sense For People's Lives To Be Taken Over Foolishness....Like Come On How Many More People Do We Have To Lose On The Streets Of Roosevelt Before We Make Some Changes. Its So Sad Like My Thoughts,Prayers, & Sympathies Are With His Mother, His Brothers, His Girlfriend, & The Rest Of His Loved One & Friends..I Pray That God Has Mercy On The Soul Of The People Who Had Something To Do With This..'Tha Velt' Will Never Be The Same..I Just Hope That Lord's Life Will Be Used A Lesson To Everybody Thats Out There In The Streets..

Much Love & Respect,

RIP LORD

RIP..Jose White..Johnathan Harris..Kail Ferro..& Antonio Patterson..All Of These Young Men Lost Their Lives To Gun Violence On The Streets Of Roosevelt...Its Way Past Time For A Change...

I remember back in Roosevelt High ..when Lord would run the hallways along with his two brothers ... I called them The Carter Three... now it"s The Carter Two...I know we should never ask why him..Because we can never get an answer.. But I will say"ENOUGH IS ENOUGH"!
I have a 1yr old son, and we can't even go to the parks right here in Roosevelt ,due to the fact there is always something going on...I have seen so many young men leave this earth within the last five years before there time.
To the family of Lord Carter my heart is with you all at this time.( My bestie Nai if you need me I'm there) I know what it feels like to lose family to the streets..

“gang banging" on LI? LMAO.

Wannabes, we all know that's west coast.

"we don't throw gang signs in NY" ~Onyx.

Every time I see these clowns trying to represent their colors in NY/LI or the east coast I laugh, no matter how serious they are.

I just see it as another youth caught up with the wrong crowd and misguided.

I really feel sorry for the family that lost a brother and a son. I'm from Roosevelt and i got shot out there myself, and had to deal with that out come..But something like this really hurts the family and that's what's important right now. I hope we can really stop the violence we are doing to others....R.I.P from MUD out of the Velt...Roosevelt keep your heads up

... and I'm sorry... what exactly are these kids, yes KIDS, dying for?

They think they are so tough. Let's see them try to live REAL LIFE - not something from the movies and MTV - and see how friggin tough they really are, because THAT's what takes guts.

Hanging out in the streets with guns like wannabe thugs with no minds of their own... what do they expect the outcome of their lives is going to be? And the stupid girls that have their children - oooo, yes, such a glamorous life.

Losers, all of them, and it's their children that suffer. The whole cycle perpetuates itself and the rest of society has to put up with the animals.

If this kid really wanted to get out, that's a sad and ironic end.

Some of these comments really disturb me. No one, no matter who they are deserves to die. That is up to God to decide. If you knew him, you would know that he was a kind person. Unless, you are from Roosevelt you will never understand, why certain people choose the paths that they do. Every town that surrounds us counts us out before they even know anything about our personalities and thats because the media only gives us shine when something negative happens, never anything positive. I am so sad because we have lost another one of our soldiers to gang violence, however, I do believe that this situation will serve as an example to all.

RIP Lordy

Huh? I guess you're saying that being born or raised in Roosevelt gives you a special gift that nobody else has? You can't be from Roosevelt and break the cycle? You can't go to college and make a good life for yourself? You can't be an agent for change? You can't make a difference?

It's that thinking and mindset that just allows the violence and hate to continue. Either stand up and make a difference, or shut up and play the cards you were dealt. I don't care. I went to Roosevelt schools, and I chose to leave for a better life. I don't wallow or comiserate with how I was raised, that my dad was thug and my was a drunk. No, instead I opened my eyes, listened to my teachers, made the right decisions and knew right from wrong. I made it out, and so can anybody else. It's called effort.

YOU ARE PART OF PROBLEM! BECOME PART OF THE SOLUTION!

I am glad that there are more positive comments than a**hole comments. Those of you who think this type of stuff cannot touch you should pay attention to this young man's story. He had problems, he realized he had problems and he made a change. Just like those of you who had problems as youth, grew up and became responsible adults.

This is SAD because everyone deserves the chance to grow up. Too many of our youth are losing that opportunity.

I've known Lord for five years, he did not deserve this- no one does.

GOOD FOR YOU!!!! There aren't enough of these kids who believe this. They take the easier route and wind up dead. When will they wake up? What is this kind of life giving them? Pathetic.

so are you saying that it is okay for someone who has changed to be killed anyway? are you saying making a change and promoting it in your everyday life it's still okay for them to get killed. are you saying that the effort he made talking to other teens following in the wrong steps to do better was pointless because of what he was? if nobody can move on from their past and see the changes that were made to better their future where would us as Americans be? this is my cousin that i feel you are disrespecting by your statements "Think before you speak' a quote that all of the asses including you should live by. Arrogance only causes chaos think about.

You are the animal for making a comment like that u fucking piece of shit I am so tired of coming on this site and being disappointed by the comments made. don;t think that this type of violence can affect you or your family rather it be directly or indirectly. I would think that suggestions and forums would be made on how this community and any other community out there can form a movement and get this bullshit out of our neighborhoods. God forbid you, or someone in your family falls victim to this and you get to hear these typee of comments. How do you figure he is an animal? Do you even know what that hell your talking about? think before you speak!!
