You canít look at old coal fired power plants and equate that to the new. Technology has advanced to the degree that the new plants are nowhere near the pollution icons of the old. The environmentalists have blocked our (Americans) ability to tap resources of Oil, Gas or build new refineries but continue to block every alternative devised to supply the much needed energy required to keep our economy going. Just for once be realistic and educate the masses on how many acres of windmills or how many millions of solar panels it would take to supply the energy anticipated for the next 10 to 20 years. Is there really any other alternative or do we just keep bashing what we have available now?

Hey Slick, There is NO new clean coal technology. What part of that don't you Understand? Environmentalists are the ones that have continually pushed for alternative energy sources. It was the Bush administration that stopped it at every turn in favor of coal and oil companies which own the congress of this corporate oligarchy in which we live. Finally we have a president that will invest in solar. Solar can be very efficient.
