If it were only between those two, Crumley would be better. Older, wiser, consistent law enforcement career record (one agency/county 20+ years), managed multiple persons & major budgets and outstanding financial credit.

Not Long , this is a man who claims to have served his country when all he did is serve his pocket , doing a tour and getting paid 6 figures to instruct a class with a prepared lesson plan is hardly serving your country. Service men and women make generally make 45k and that includes being shot at and blown up not teaching a class

Agree with you SGT K OIF VETERAN. We already have enough of our share of dishonesty, scandals, and improprities in the current administration. Mr. Long's attempt to pass himself off to the public as a veteran is dishonorable thing while the "real" veterans and their families made the sacrifice for this country. Mr.Long's claim is truly a disgrace. Mr. Long claims to have 11 years of law enforcement experience and have managed 50 people. We know he has worked with 3 different agencies in 11 years which show his instability in keeping a job. How does his 11 years of experience as a drug enforcement officer qualify him for the Sheriff's job? And where did he manage 50 people? May be as the commanding officer in Afghanistan??? He talks about being a fiscally responsible person and have the experience to manage a budget, while public records show that he filed bankruptcy. If he can't manage his own finances, how can he manage the finances (budget) of the Sheriff's office? More importantly, how can we trust him with our hard earned tax dollars? Mr. Long wants to be the chief law enforcement officer of Butts County (Sheriff). As such he should be leading by example as a law abiding citizen. Public records show that he has been arrested at least 3 times one of which is in Locust Grove for being in a a bar brawl. Now is this the person we want to elect to be the Sheriff of Butts County. I'm surprised that not too many people are talking about this!

Mr. Crumley seems to have his act together. His experience, 23 + years in the same agency and worked in a wide variety of the justice system. His previous elected office, his business experience and the ability to manage a budget, employees and the time he has given to volunteer in all those programs and not to mention an impressive resume, is really impressive. So between the two candidates I think Crumley would be the best choice.

Yeah, could you see Crumbly in charge of a 4 million dollar budget? He is a liberal demoRAT in a Republican suit. He has a circus in Jackson every Saturday giving away everything any non voting lot lizard could want. This silly man is giving away everything he can beg, borrow or steal to people who have never cast a vote in their life.Go watch this circus Saturday and tell me this clown can even spell Republican. He is a liberal democrat that won't fool 20% of the Republican voters in Butts county. This nut would give away the entire budget in 2 months if he had 1/2 chance of winning, good thing is he don't.Ya'll better go get your free school supplies and peanuts this Saturday..........it's the last one of the Crumbly (freebie) campaign.

First and foremost, by the Grace of God I can buy my own school supplies and peanuts... don't need any freebies! Secondly, I don't throw my support behind someone because of what they say or advertise. We can all disect, analyze, research and come to our own conclusions. I have done just that and I'm more than satisfied with my findings. When you look at Mr. Crumley's voting record (available from the state or county) you'll find that he has consistently voted Republican in every election going back from Clayton County to Butts County. When you research you'll also find that he's a registered Republican. So your assertion that he's in your words "a liberal demorat" doesn't hold water. And YES I can see him in charge of a $4 million budget. In fact he has been in charge of a much larger budget than that for many years. So this will be a "walk in the park" for him. This is not his first rodeo when it comes to giving away things to those who are in need. When you do the research, you'll find that he's been doing this for years through Churches and other charities... giving back to the society from the blessings of his good fortune. So there's nothing new there. I just like to stay focused on the FACTS and the TRUTHS about any candidate whether its for Sheriff, Congress or even the President of the United States. I try to do a thorough research and then analyze the facts before making my final decision. In this case, who's best for Butts County to lead our law enforcement agency? The answer is unequivocally a resounding Scott Crumley!

You know Crumley is a finacial genius. He spent in excess of $50.000.00 on a 45 day campaign that went nowhere. Could you imagine what he would do with YOUR TAX DOLLARS? If he threw away his money in that fashion imagine what he would do with yours!

It's all relative my friend. 50,000 is a drop in the bucket for Crumley. You're right he's a financial genius. While most of his competitors are out of business in this economy, not only has he managed to stay in business, but he has managed to stay profitable. No lay-offs and no cutbacks... infact he has employed more people and had the slush fund to spend on his campaign; and still contribute generously to his charity interests! By the way he maintains his business profitable by managing his clients assets prudently and making it profitable for them to do business with him. That's a financial genius!!!
