Am I the only one that thinks our goodwill is a waste of space? I needed to find a cheap pair of work jeans but every pair are on one rack which means I had to go thru every single one to look for the right size! And the kids clothes are all mixed up. I looked around and the workers are just walking around talking. I don't think it would kill them to straighten up the place a little bit

never mind they are higher in price then most all other second hand clothes, even the messed up "wouldn't put them up in a yard sale even!" clothes.. god forbid they should actually earn their paycheck by actually working the store like they are supposed to including keeping the clothes organized by size etc. guess they figure they're the only second hand clothes store around. what a joke.

you could do like i do and find brand new at walmart especially on sale for the same money u would spend on used (and often sorry condition) at goodwill!

go to buck or two... they have a ton of used jeans and as packed as they are i bet you'd find some jeans there in good/great condition and for less then goodwill too. i have.

The people you see "just standing around" are probably not paid employees. People do community service there. I don't know where in the world you got the idea that it's their job to put clothes in order by size. Seriously?? The only sorting they have to do is "type" of clothing. You probably wouldn't make it a day there. If you think you can they do take volunteers.

No, I am not an employee. If I was I would tell you. However, I do know people that have worked there, volunteered there and that do currently work there. My attitude comes from your ignorance.

so community service = standing around. wow.

no, clueless... YOU take ownership of your attitude, what are you besides clueless?... 12?

besides sorting and maybe sweeping the floor WHY NOT spend the 'clock time' organizing the merchandise??

oh that's right, IYO to make the merchandise easier to go through and find, especially when there isn't much of anything else to do - therefore, bring more money in FOR THE CHARITY, you had better go in there and do it yourself. Or, else expect the ugly and rude "clueless" attitude for your support of GoodWill Charity Industries.

If I managed the place YOU wouldn't last the interview, clueless sweet heart. And, as I escorted you out of my office, I'd inform you that Good Will Industries and those they help can't begin to afford your clueless nasty attitude.... yanno - donate to you A CLUE -- all organized and free of charge ta boot, my pleasure.

wait now, it got even better in the second reading...LOL

you KNOW ppl that work there, volunteer there, and currently work there, and post that stellar display of "how DARE you suggest they expend one iota more than barely even the minimum of effort beyond sorting by type" - like what, demand a raise if or pay differential if they actually get the damn shirt on a hanger and hang it AT ALL don't even try to go there about BY SIZE now!... labeling ANYONE else as ignorant, let alone blame them for your own ugly attitude.

Congrats... you just graduated to stellar example of nasty lazy and ignorant, all wrapped up in a nice pretty entitlement bow.

Good Will Industries is a CHARITY that helps the needy globally!-- and this lame excuse of a staff in the one here can't even wrap their heads around the concept of ...

Forget it. lol Clinton, and Williamsberg it is as they DO 'get it' and run great GW stores, and even throw a smile in free of charge when you check out. Imagine that.

Next thread topic: Why is more and more of CC's consumers'$$$ spent out of county and WORTH the added cost in gas to do it.**HINT**

Note: Need any more clues "clueless", and it'll cost ya a $20 per clue donation to GWI, m'k.

Thanks from GWI, in advance...:o)... LOL

i have never been in a goodwill like this one. it is much higher and employees are not friendly. it doesnt matter whether they are paid or volunteer can u not be nice? i really like the williamsburg store and the lady that runs register in clinton i love her as soon as u walk thru the door you are greeted pleasantly most of the time at lafollette they never even speak when u check out and u never c any of the management. they must feel really secure in there jobs cause the old store they where friendlier, u saw them there, and had more selection and better prices.

I think it's funny that people who go to Goodwill demand so much service. You know what they say--you get what you pay for!

I guarantee I would spend more money in there if things were better organized and I'm are othes would too. I doubt any one would like to go to walmart if they just threw all of their stuff together on the racks! Not only would it make me happy but it would bring more money in for the charity. I have been to other very nice thrift stores and been able to find what I was looking for within 5-10 mins and be satisfied as I walked out the door. And like one of the other comments, I would gladly pay the extra gas to go elsewhere for better services!

well i think they have items priced to high, i found some blouses for 4.99 when walmart had new ones for $5 these clothes are donated, somebody is getting wealthy off these donations, if this is for needy families a needy family can't afford their prices , yes buck or two has better clothes than goodwill, and some days they are only 49 cents , at one time jeans were 25 cents...

thats whats wrong with this county now, they think people should pay any price they stick on something, we went to the goodwill in powell and their stuff was only $1... i got 2 pairs of new balance shoes for $1 each....the goodwill here would have wanted 20 bucks for them... i will drive the distance to shop where i can get bargains, i will not or do donate anything to lafollette goodwill, why can the others sell their donations for a dollar and lafollette sells theirs at different prices high prices to beat that. , take your clothing and other items to the duff church give away, thats the best help to cloth the needy

I agree, and I have done this. I will not donate anything to the goodwill or salvation army, because they price things as the same as walmart. Its ridiculous! They might as well be competing and make theirselves, Kmart and Target, at the prices. I often donate to Reaches, and Duff Baptist church. Because they do hand it out to people in need. I dont have time to have a yard sale, so I think its a better thing to do, is to pack it up and donate, and know its going to someone that will need it to keep them warm, or cool.

I would rather give to an organization that gives away clothes and etc. than to give it to goodwill or salvation army that charges too much for the item. More blessed to give than receive.

Let me tell you something "to old news I am a God fearing Christian and I AM NOT GOING TO HELL. you cannot judge us only God can do that. Everyone has their own opinion about where we like to shop and spend our money. I also, think this Goodwill is to high on their items. I went to the one in Oak Ridge and brought brand new tops name brand with the tags still on them for 1.50 before the 50% was taken off. I shop the goodwills weekly and I know a good deal when I see them. And you can find better deals in the Clinton, Oak Ridge and Knoxville area goodwills.
