Where was the law enforcement? State troopers? City police? Sheriffs department? I mean there was a lot of people traveling from Tennessee to Starkville for the football game. Our local law enforcement should have known and been prepared for extra patrols. Instead they were picking on local residents. This blood is on their hands.

Your comment shows abundant ignorance. The fault lies with the driver failing to be aware of his surrounds. Police officers cannot be at every intersection, road sign, etc. where an accident could happen if people don't pay attention. This was a terrible tragedy. If your hatred of the local/state officers is so great, find a more plausible means of discrediting them OR perhaps become one yourself.

Ahhh leave it to mississippi to think that things can't be prevented. I guess that's why mississippi ranks 1st in obesity and diabetes. You people think these things can't be prevented. Well, they can. Just so you know.

No doubt they can be prevented- road awareness could have prevented this accident.

Y'all are pathic. Do you not have anything better to do with your lifes then talk about those who have been affected by this or what should have been done? There called accidents for.a reason. Y'all should be praying for both families right now! The ones who lost mr & mrs stickland and have another family member injured and also the driver of the truck that hit them. This is a hard situation on anyone especailly the driver who is going to have to live with this for the rest of his life & not have a day go by that he doesn't think of this. So instead of posting what should have been done how about praying for them & realizing what you have in front of you because you never know what can happen at any second.
