They should not even be allowed IN the bar. What kind of scumbag goes to a bar while they're pregnant? If they arent smart enough to figure out how to be a mother for themselves, the least we can do is prevent them from acting like trailer park trash in front of us.

Absolutely! I tended bar years ago, and there was a couple that used to come in every week. They were both drunks. More than once, she was already half in the bag when they came in. I outright REFUSED to serve her any alcohol. She got pissed and said she had money and I HAD to serve her. My response to that?---"I'm sorry, but I can refuse to serve anybody I choose. It's not bad enough that you are already drunk, but you're also pregnant! If you want a soda or water, I'll serve you that, but you're NOT getting any alcohol in here!" Her hubby was pissed too, so they left, to go to another bar where, "we will get served by somebody who doesn't judge. After all, it IS our kid and OUR decision what we do!" I replied, "Have a nice evening."
The way I see it, is that drinking while you are pregnant is endangering the welfare of a child.

Some of these laws take way to long coming.Drinking and driving w/ a child in the car is child abuse. DAH Drinking while pregnant child abuse? DAH!

it's a free country, let them drink. do you really refusing to serve pregnant women will really stop them from consuming alcohol?

plus how do you know they are pregnant? that fetus is likely screwed up since conception anyways.

No, I knew my refusing to serve her wouldn't stop her, but I wasn't going to contribute to something that I don't agree with. I wasn't going to be her "enabler", so to speak.

Did you ever serve an alcoholic?. Do you agree with alcoholism.

I think it should be against the law since it will most likely be the public funds that goes to take care of the child that suffers from any number of defects when it comes out. You figure the only people who would argue against this would be pregnant drunks hahaha
