Used to be a Sub shop above the Cahriot Restaurant, that made a Sub called the X-er, if anyone remembers what was in it, I would love to taste one again!

I still have fond memories of the Xer. It was said to have come from a mail in recipe contestand i suspected that God had filled out the post card and dropped it in the box.
It was made in two stages; some parts stayed room tenperature and the pastrami and something else was heated in an oven. I would love to try to replicate it. Let's keep trying to find the recipe. Someone should still know!

found an old description on the back of an envelope from jan 1988, postage was $.22 BTW.

open sub roll
layer of thin roast beef
layer of sweet red and green pepers from the can
layer of white american cheese
in oven to melt cheese
in a separate pan, thin pastrami, heat in oven too.
spread russian dressing on roll half w/o roast beef
add lettuce and heated pastrami, close and cut

Oh yeah!
