Hey, Ithaca's one of the finest places on earth. Cornellians are awesome. You might even say, "Ithaca is Gorges." Best pun ever.

great! except they better make a loud (and pleasant) sound. we have a monorail here in houston that is silent and can be quite dangerous. i would hate to get run over by a surprise podmobile.

William must be some bitter Dartmouth fan who's pissed that we kick their ass in football nearly half the time.

isabelly brings up a good point, there's a lot of angst about these silent cars in the deaf community. If they can't hear them how will they know that they are there?

Boring. That seems way too impractical to catch on in any large-scale way.$40 million per mile of track? Prolly not. Though in general I remain in favor of all technology that brings us closer to realizing my vision of a utopian futureworld.

It would be a great idea but I do think the cost is prohibitive for the time being. I wonder how it would work in places like New York. I don't think I'd like being in such a small space with strangers on a Saturday night. The subway may be dirty but you have at least the illusion of feeling safe.

Hey Colleen

Their uncoolness makes them cool.
