I am deeply disturbed by the whole situation, personally. I am a close friend of the family, Ronald and Homer Jr. are practically the brothers I have never had. Growing up around them was unbelievable we never had a dull moment. Ronald was a very talented artist he could draw anything you could imagine. My favorite drawing featured a photo of the Body family it was absolutely beautiful and another one was of their house with a prayer outlining it asking God to always protect and watch over his family. So, inspite of all the negative images depicted in the media Ron was a great person inside and out. He was quick to give his last and always willing to lend a helping hand. My fondest memory of him will always be the rides we would take around the city to clear our heads or just to be in each others presence. I will never forget his smile, words of wisdom, him being over protective of me, and his love for chicken! Now, you have more insight about the real Ronald Fitzgerald Young. This is what the media and police department don't know and didn't try to find out.
Having grown up in Mississippi I don't think we will ever know the truth about what happen that night because Hattiesburg Police Department as well as some members of the community could care less about what happens to a young black man, to them it is just another "brother" off the streets and out of their neighborhoods. If you don't believe me contact some of the individuals involved in the incidents that occured on the campus of the University of Southern Mississippi after their football game against Jackson State University a couple of years ago. Let's just say that the city still have some "good ole boys" lurking around and most of them possess power as city officials. My daily prayer is that the truth come out and justice be served, sad to say that Martin, Medger, and Rosa may have died in vain.
