Raleys has Moldy pizza wrote: I find the food from Winco fresher. I got moldy pizza crust from the Oakley Raleys and at Luckys you pay high prices and have to scan your own groceries. I believe most of the smears about Winco come from UNION bullies. Don't believe negative about Winco. The boxed cereals are also in plastic bags. Bugs can't get through the plastic. Oh Yes they can! I work for a grocery retailer and know for a fact that those little B**tards can get through anything they set their minds to! Plastic or not, it's up to them!

When winco on Lone Tree first opened I shopped there as it is close to where I live. I came home with cockroaches. Never had this problem until I shopped there. Have been successful at getting rid of them but closly watch what I purchase at this store. Canned goods are the safest bet. Really need to watch the veges.

I live in Oakley, CA and shop at the Brentwood Winco store. I have had the unfortunate displeasure of finding pantry moths in my NAME BRAND foods like Quaker Oats and Cream of Wheat. It took well over a year of enclosing all my pantry food in airtight containers so the bugs wouldn't get in or out and throwing away lots of food. I still keep my food in containers just in case. It may not be the Winco as I also shop at Lucky's, Costco, Food Maxx and Safeway. Just because you don't see the bugs in the food when you get it home, doesn't mean they aren't there. My suggestion is to be careful no matter where you purchase your food.

Fed Up With Winco wrote: We had the same thing happen to us. We purchased Oatmeal that was filled with maggots. Unfortunately, we ended up with moths before I realized our unopened oatmeal had a place where the maggots chewed through the container and had become moths. I was totally grossed out!!! It is real hard to get rid of them!!! Are you stupid? Flys come from maggots not moths. As for the food meeting a different standard have you ever heard of the FDA. Hello they regulate the food that leaves the suppliers whether it is luckys, costco, winco, raleys etc. Come on get a life...

sue wrote: I shop at winco in Brentwood Ca. I really like the store but out of the blue I started seeing alot of moths in my kitchen never had this problem before. Went through all my boxed stuff checked it & found some moths in the cereal boxes so now I ziplock all my cerael.I Thought the problem was gone but still more moths, finaly found the PROBLEM the pests were coming from some sunflower seeds that came from the large bins that you weigh yourself. To me this could be the WHOLE PROBLEM HERE, these bins are open to pests, so of course the bugs would find their way to the boxed foods in the store. WINCO DOES NEED TO ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM. But people your cabnets need to be checked and cleaned, to take care of this problem at home too.If you don't the problem wont go away. I live on laguna in south sac and theres a winco sotre on sheldon i go there almost everyday for the past 2 years and have no problem with any of my food yet.. But for the poeple who has and want to be on here complaining then GO TO A FUCKING DIFFERENT GROCERY STORE AND SHUT UP, any food store can have a bug problem no matter were you live, plus you left your food out and let it get old i doubt you scoped up some damn sunflower seeds and not see the fuckn bugs so clean your house and stop blaming winco for you being a sloopy pig and shop somewere else.. Thank You

I bought cucumbers twice and got sick everytime, I took it back to them and ask them to due quality check on it. They gave my money back happily without being surprized at all! They are still selling them!!! James Winter wrote: My wife and I have gone to Winco off of Lone Tree Way for the last 3-4 major food purchases. We refuse to go anymore after we found weavils and maggots in the cereals and in the ramen. We even talked to an employee of the store who has gone through the same thing!!! How hard is it to keep your place clean from these things??? My wife and I will go back to Lucky's or Raley's. We are tired of playing the lottery when we open either the generic malt o meal cereals (btw, they paid us 5 dollars for their cereal) OR even brand name Lucky Charms. Winco needs to do a SOUND quality check and health inspection and assure that they get rid of this problem...has anyone else had this issue as well and either overlooked it or ignored it???

I have shopped at Winco in Brentwood, Pittsburg, and Modesto and have never had any problems with any of the food from any of these locations. I buy produce, meat, cereal etc. and have never had any issues. But I have come to realize that there are some people in this world who are never happy and must find something to complain about. If you don't like it, if you have had a bad experience, then don't shop there anymore.

Thank you Michael! I live in Lake Stevens, WA too. I was just about to not go there after reading all these posts. My daughter goes to the one in Puyallup and I have a friend who goes to the one in Marysville. I haven't tried it yet but I'm going to this month. CHRISTMAS you know!
