I was in Island Park yesterday, trying to help out a friend . He lives in Bellmore ny but was trying to open a restaurant on Austin Blvd ( the old stone turtle). Sandy closed him down . however each and every morning since Sandy, he has done to the restaurant and opened his doors, with a generator to feed the people of Island Park. He refuses not to go, he wants to help everyone down there. I only wish that someone could get him some gas, he will run out soon. And if he does there will be no where for some of the folks to go. He has hot coffee every morning and cooks burgers and pasta all day to give a hot meal. I feel so terrible for Long Beach, Island park. Please pass on the word.
