Drink and drive everybody. I'll fork over the keys to a plastered friend because they'ed do it for me. The cops will never get all the drunks and people will always die because of boozebags like me. MADD and SADD should be abolished because they are all complainers

Why is it that Newsday prints this stuff, and then on their website they glamourize drinking in the clubs in the Hamptons? Is it me, or is this hypocrytical?

It's gotten to a point that it's turned into a Sexual experience to Rice, Madd, Suozzi, and the dont pratice what they preach Nassau County Police Dept. People dont want to talk about this everyday, the people I discribed above do . Thats compulsive. Thats a problem.

The entire Barnum Island issue is a problem. Barnum Island has been a hot spot for at least 20 years when Sprat's on the water was there. I totally agree that the police should patrol that area more closely but the only way to get to Barnum Island is to Drive. If there was a shuttle to the Rockville Centre train station and to the Long Beach Stations I think there'd be less cases od DWI in that area. On any given night there is only 2 or 3 cabs there for an area that attracts easily 1000 people on a nice summer night on the weekend.

The issue with the police though is that they do an insurance/registration check on the way into Barnum island which hurts the businesses. Check the drivers on the way out and at least let the patrons have an enjoyable experience.

What do you have against people who are trying to keep the roads safe for law-abiding citizens who don't want to get killed by drunks?

...I happen to travel frequently...I left here a month ago and came home, picked up the newspapers and it's the same story everday in Newsday...The Post and daily news treat the criminal type of crime to what it is,which is a bad individual and he , himself knows it. We have allowed this media attention to make some non violent folks look like the Manson of this time... Pretty soon if this keeps up your going to have people who lost everything becoming actual criminals. I just don't think most of these folks deserve this type of scrutiny......That's only my view...

the island park railroad station is just across the street on the other side of austin blvd...and if someone doesn't want to take a cab or bus or train, what is wrong with a designated driver???

13 years ago I was stopped at a DWI checkpoint by NCPD and charged with DWI with a BAC of .010 Before then I would think it was perfectly OK to down several pints and drive home in the early morning hours *%&!$-faced. Oh how I moaned and complained about the lawyers fees, the insurance costs, the indignity of being locked up and I wondered why the cops don't go after real criminals. Because it was a 1st offense I was allowed to plead guilty to DUI and was back on the road after a very short time. It didn't take longer than a few weeks of feeling sorry for myself to realize that what that officer did that night was to save me from myself and more importantly to protect my potential future victims including myself from a destroyed life and a lifetime of guilt and misery. I have never nor will I ever drive drunk again. Thank you Charlie Johnson, wherever you are!

Funny, your post reminds me of someone else who posts from Hicksville. And they usually post about this same subject.

You , your another one. This seems to be the only thing that makes you go in the day. If this is your idea of a feeling of power , you should get help. I mean look at your name you use. I thought at first, maybe the name fits you, but sad to say it fits someone who cry,s alot and needs to feel important and this is what you think works. Your a total loser too.

Some of us find great humor in the morons who do stupid things. Itís much safer than drunk driving and itís also legal.
