I have lived in Far Rockaway for 2 yrs now, and yesterday my daughter and her friend were walking home from school and in broad daylight 2 kids were looking for someone to rob. They watched these boys wrap their bandannas around their faces and approach different ppl. One thing we have to admitt that this place is full of drug addicts I myself live around 3 different crack houses where I have witnessed some women with kids in strollers taking the babies in the homes while they do their drugs. I have a neighbor that stands in front of the property waiting for other drug addicts to pass by so they can get them to come into their house and get high there. I call it crack networking.
Don't you think it's time to move out of the slum for the sake of your children?

It's time to relocate, that's no place to raise a family at all.
I used to live in Far Rockaway 13 years ago and left after one year because of the drugs, the crackheads and the atmosphere that resulted because of the drug activity.
Far Rockaway is a very dangerous place, for the sake of your daughter's safety as well as your own get out of there as soon as you can.

HA HA You had to flee your own SAVAGES and seek out a white neighborhood to live in, PRICELESS. Glad to see that YOU were a victim of the animals and savages that respect no one and ruin everything and everyplace they come in contact with.

Victim?

Who said anything about being a victim?
Some of these Topix posters just love to smell their filthy breaths each time they open their mouths and just have to say something no matter how stupid they sound.
Pay those trolls no mind; they get ignored and still respond to others posts, must be a mental short coming.

I am in the process of moving my children out of Far Rockaway. This has been a learning experience for me. I actually thought that this was a nice quiet area and peaceful boy was I mistaken.

Good for you, you're doing the right thing.
When I first moved there, I also thought it was quiet until I begin to notice the activity taking place and the type of people that were hanging around.
That place is the pits, Good luck in getting out of there.

Im hoping by the end of May everything will be done. It takes a lot of money to move and I am saving to get out which is not easy with the way the cost of living keeps increasing. Have a great evening.

All u insensitive, judgmental, in compassionate f***s really get to me. In stead of calling these children garbage and savages, why don't you all stop and think for a second... why are their gangs in the Rockaways? Why are drugs so prevalent in this community? Why has violence and crime become an every day occurrence? It's very easy to point the finger at minorities, and people of lower socio-economic status, who's shoe's you've never walked in, but until we as a people identify, acknowledge, and try to change the social conditions that lead to and are the root cause of Far Rockaway's plight nothing will change. Why would a teenager start selling drugs? There are no jobs in the community. Everyone is a product of their environment, and while I'm not making excuses for these young Rockaway gang bangers, instead of belittling them and locking them up, why not try to change the environment that made them? Why not try to give the children of Rockaway more opportunities and resources to succeed?

If Barack Obama had had a son, he would have looked like Trayvon.
