Nice to hear the voice of reason there then..,

Maybe you could take a look at yourself and understand why you feel the need to judge others...?

There are all sorts of birth defects! In our case it's deformation of certain brain structures. Lets start at the beginning. All fetuses are female for a while till something triggers some to become male. Part of a Transexual's brain remains female like while the rest of the person developes as a male. This cause an increasing amount of anguish throughout the person's life. So far, the only "cure" that's ever been found is transition. That's what Mark Krolikowski is trying to do. S/he's not sick! S/he's trying to be who she feels she really is.
Regards, Terri

Very true.Terry. However,it is inappropriate to even imply that trans-sexual-ism is a 'birth defect.' It is no longer even considered a 'disorder' in the latest medical literature. An interesting observation: In Genesis, one can easily infer that the first human was indeed inter-sex. The real problems are the inherent jealousy of all other women;and, the continuing stereotyping of the male as someone "walking down the street, spitting, and swinging a chain." Female jealousy probably cannot be 'cured.' T-women are simply very pretty, attractive, sensuous, with a long 'shelf-life.' The sterotype of the male will change.

The R.C. Church has rights under the freedom of religion including the right to set dress and appearance codes in accordance with its beliefs. If this were a secular school supported by tax payer dollars, he might have a case.

I will have to disagree with Nanoanomoly about all trans persons being perverts. I will also partially disagree with what you state is the cause of it as the jury is still out on whether it is a condition that develops in the womb or the result of post birth emotional cause and effect issues or perhaps even a combination of the two.

I have no problem with reasonable accomodation for trans persons just so long as the solutions don't infringe too severely on the rest of us.

Well I thank you for your fair assessment anyway. I wish everyone would give us a fair hearing, then there wouldn't be an outcry for "rights". Transexual as a class, are not criminals, pedophiles, Perverts. Usually we're married with kids (that's changing as TSes get younger) and a big secret. We hit the wall and can go no further with it and begin transition. This very often costs us everything we have, including our jobs and families. In many we will never again make the money we made. So, what is going on in our brains? For many, the only alternative is Suicide.

I haven't replied to you in quite a while. I must say that I see you as one who is genuinely concerned about transsexual/transgender issues and not one movitated by a radical adherence to far left political ideas and I can respect you for that. I have moderated my originally staunch anti-trans views after learning more about the issues and would like to see some reasonable legislation that addresses legitimate concerns of the trans community while still respecting legitimate concerns of the rest of the population.

I would hope that we could get a legislative solution as opposed to a judge's decision motivated by extra-constitutional agendas. There should be reasonable give and take between the trans and non-trans communities.

BTW, I am basically a political moderate who leans right on some issues and left on others and often take a middle road., but they all tend to balance out in the end. On welfare and helthcare I agree that changes need to be made, but I take the mend it rather than end it approach to both for instance. Welfare should be a safety net rather than a way of life. I also take an evwen handed approach to management employee issues as I believe a worker should be fairly compensated for his contributions to the company, but also realizing that a business does need to be profitable. While some government regulations are needed, I do believe some others are over the top.

I am also inclined to disagree with the negative judge-it you received.

Thank you "Bad"! That is high praise coming from you. I don't see it as a "left-right" issue. I see it as a medical issue that's been co-opted by the left. That's partly because because so many fundamentalists refuse to see it as medical problem and look upon it as a moral issue. As a result, they drive gay and Trans people into the open arms of the left. Obama was supposed to be our great savior. In four years all he did was hire one Transexual and promote another. Two Transexuals actually benefited from him. Secondly, under Obamacare, GRS Gender reassignment is still the responsibity of the patient. So we have to suck it up again! We gained nothing! Romney would have at least improved the economy. But for us everything is at the state level. Where I believe 13 states have enacted "TS civil rights" laws. Many cities have independently passed ordinances that amount to civil rights laws. If this thing (Transexualism) did not involve sex and gender, we would not get this treatment. Many see it as as an attempt to raise it from immorality to a medical condition.
Thanks, Terri
