I have tried finding all of the head stones of my grandfathers named Joseph who were born in the colonies of Connecticut or NY. This stone does not give a date but I wonder if the church has a record?

The British controlled Woodbridge NJ and a few other areas like NY. The British destroyed Gravestones of the Patriots an not all my family were Loyalist so I suppose some stones may have been damaged by them during the Revolutionary War or because of it a little after. The War of 1812 showed the British were not too pleased after losing the first war with the United States. Many of the stones were similar material an they survived severe weather over 300 or more years so the others missing had to have been tampered with.
