I know that area well, she had to be going pretty fast. The speed limit through Irwin is 45. And their is a corner after Irwin going toward Mechanicsburg that is a hairy corner and is a 25mph corner. If the roads were wet and she was going a little faster on that corner I can see where she could've lost control of her cruiser. I hope she makes a full recovery.

I HOPE SHE IS OK .THE $30,000 DOLLAR CRUISER CAN BE REPLACED .THE STATE CAN PICKUP THE HOSPITAL BILLS.HER VEHICLE INSURANCE SHOULDN T GO UP BECAUSE THE STATE WILL LOOK AFTER THAT.SHE SHOUDNT LOSE ANY MONEY FOR BEING OFF WORK THE STATE WILL LOOK AFTER THAT ALSO. THE STATE SHOULD PAY FOR THE OVERTIME THE OTHER OFFICERS WILL HAVE TO PUT IN TILL SHE COMES BACK TO WORK.HOPEFULLY SHE WILL RETURN TO ACTIVE DUTY SO THE STATE WONT HAVE TO PAY FOR THE TRAINING OF ANOTHER OFFICER TO REPLACE HER AND TO TRAIN HER FOR ANOTHER JOB THAT SHE COULD DO.OR MAYBE SHE WILL GO ON LONGTIME DISABILITY WHICH THE STATE WILL PICKUP. I SURE HOPE SHE WASNT ON HER PERSONAL CELL PHONE OR READING HER SCREEN MESSAGE THAT HER DISPATCHER MIGHT HAVE SENT HER. OH AND DONT WORRY ABOUT THE TICKET OR POINTS GOING ON HER LICENCE FOR FAILING TO CONTROL AFTER ALL SHE WAS ON DUTY. GOOD DAY..........

These are the people who enforce the traffic laws and deliver those stern condescending lectures about 'safety'. Incredible!

She's laying in a hospital in critical condition - what is wrong with you people. Perhaps you could wait until the details are released to start throwing stones. I'm sure none of you have ever had an automobile "accident" and hopefully you never will - but if you do, it sure would be horrible if everyone went around saying what a "rotten beast" you were just because...Have a freaking heart.

I know here in TN, almost everytime I see a patrol/police officer it seems they are talking on a cell phone. As if they are not already distracted enough, they use a cell phone.
I hope she is OK, but these police need to realize they are the ones that set the examples for others.

It seems like state troopers are the biggest menace on the road.

I wonder if license fees will rise again to pay for this latest fiasco.

I am praying for the speedy recovery of a fellow officer... For those of you that make rude comments on here you should be ashamed of yourselves. If she was in the wrong she will be issued a citation, which means she will get points on her license, the Highway Patrol is notorious for issuing officers tickets when they crash.

Second of all, Police and Fire personel are on the roadways 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. When the rain is pounding on the windshield and with snow blinding the windshield we are out there. MOST of us don't complain and go about our job carefully, but accidents do happen.

Has anyone ever heard this Trooper's name before in a negative manner? I sure as heck haven't... so why is she instantly a horrible officer and in need of a hanging? The article never said she was speeding, talking on her phone, or playing on her MDT... Get the facts before casting a negative shadow on someone that is laying in the hospital with a chance that they might not ever leave?

You people are unreal. A trooper, who is responding to a call, is seriously hurt. Instead of thanking her for putting her life on the line responding to a call for aid, and praying for her recovery -- you post thoughtless and inane comments. I wish I could express the depth of my disgust.

The next time you are in a crash and are trapped in the car bleeding, please say to the 911 operator, "Tell the people who are coming to help me to drive slowly."

no one said she was a horrible officer or needed to be hung - and u dont have the right to complain about the job - u chose the profession - one thing is clear though - she was not in control of the vehicle - cars do not leave roads and crash on their own - they r normally parked until someone decides to get behind the wheel and take on the responsibilities that comes with that decision

Why is it that we should have a heart when a cop is hurt or killed, but when it is a civillian that is hurt or killed, it doesn't really matter.

NOTICE: When we matter to them, they'll matter to us. Not before.
You seem to think that they are more righteous than God.
