I jumped on the "comments" section expecting that it would be people that knew these two ladies. I figured there would be condolences to the family, etc. I am totally appalled at what I am reading, and I hope their families never see it. I did not know Lynne, but I did know Debra very well. She was a former co-worker and a friend. In fact, we just had lunch last week, and she was telling me about her mini vacation that was planned. I never expected it would be the last time that I saw her. Debra is a wonderful mother, wife, friend, and co-worker. She was one of most hard-working and unselfish people I have ever met.

At this point, my heart goes out to Debra's family. I cannot imagine how they are feeling right now. I feel awful about her loss, and will miss her dearly.

I figure that's the most likely scenario, but I'd still like conformation of this. In the picture I see a car that's in better shape than a few where the people inside walked away. If the car went through the median my guess is that it had slowed considerably and the truck driver had some time to react and hit the brakes. If that's the case than seat belts and airbags might have made a difference. I'd just like to know and if you're going to take the time to write an article about a traffic accident, it should be much of a bother to ask the Sheriff's spokesman those questions. If the questions were asked, then mention that said info was not available.
It's basic journalism. Who was in the accident? What was the cause of the accident? Where did the accident occur? Why did they die? When did this happen? How fast were the veihcles traveling?
As a reader, I was left with more questions than answers. Bad reporter.
The picture in the Dispatch is not the one that was shown on the local tv stations. The left side and top of the car were completely gone. Seatbelts and airbags would not have saved them. Prayers to both families.

In North Carolina and some other states have metal wire barriers in the median to prevent these kind of fatal collisions from happening. Use common sense Ohio and install these safety measures in preventing vehicles crossing the medium in to oncoming traffic. If having this in place they would have lived. My heart goes out to the family.
