Hello again, "good old days". Of course you may ask :-)

Cherry was an X-filer. The first to post in the thread after it had begun. You see, several of us Pro Legal Immigration folks, not "knowing" each other, but noticed we were not alone in being called, racist, xenophobe ad nauseam, when stating our positions on illegal immigration. Those verbal attacks hurt. Finally slowly we began to "chat" within topix realizing that we might as well, joke about the labels and wear them with honor. It only meant those folks saw us that way because we believe in the law and honoring the process to become a citizen. Anyway, we joked perhaps we should have a thread in topix. Thus X-files was born. Cherry was one of us, a fun person with so much to offer. I will post these links so you can read for yourself. This is when we found out Cherry had died. The other links are when "her story and that of her husband Skip was told to us." They are true American heroes, "good ole days". Thank you for asking about them. I am glad to share with you.

They were wonderful, humble and full of courage. Thank you for taking the time to ask and get to "know them." Good old days, you keep up the good fight, too. I notice your post and appreciate them. Feel free to post information in X files. Have you watched Endgame? It is over two hours long.

An email I just received from a member of citizens for immigration reform/Dallas:
Common sense is not dead afterall. "Standing" is why we are all very angry about all of the benefits received by illegal aliens. The federal court has finally recognized that illegal aliens do not have the "standing" to file lawsuits and have them heard. It took long enough, but the writer is right, this is HUGE!!! Things are looking up and the hard work of American citizens is paying off. Keep it up...Sue

There have been several posts today about the second rejection by the Federal Court on the lawsuit against Oklahoma's HB 1804. The reasoning behind the decision could turn out to be HUGE:

This is an important decision! Judge Payne "recognizes a new, and narrow, prudential limitation on standing" as it applies to ILLEGAL aliens.(Read pages 14 through 16 of the decision:

Judge Payne states: "This Court is convinced that the proper remedy for the injuries alleged by the remaining Plaintiffs—all of whom are in willing violation of federal immigration law—is not judicial intervention, rather, it is simple compliance with federal immigration law. Therefore, the Court must prudentially decline to recognize standing on the part of these plaintiffs."

Judge Payne concludes with this important ruling on "standing"; "The Court, therefore, recognizes a new, and narrow, prudential limitation on standing. An illegal alien, in willful violation of federal immigration law, is without standing to challenge the constitutionality of a state law, when compliance with federal law would absolve the illegal alien's constitutional dilemma—particularly when the challenged state law was enacted to discourage violation of the federal immigration law. In recognizing this narrow prudential limitation on standing, the Court does not shirk its responsibility to pass on the constitutionality of a law when properly called to do so, the Court just requires that the call come from a plaintiff not in unabashed violation of federal law."
