Right now, you can get a voucher for free dumping at Veolia landfill. Why are our roadsides so trashy? People who throw trash out their car windows are sick in the head. People from other communities make fun of our trashy community. Seems like some here think it is a right to trash up the place. Stupid inbred hillbilles. I am SICK and tired of messy people in this county. Folks, clean up your trash. Stop smoking and spend that money on trash disposal. It isn't one or two people. Even if your parents dumped trash out the window, it is WRONG. Stop being so trashy. I would love to see trash free roadsides. Schools and churches need to get involved. Jailbirds need to clean up the roadsides as well.

When you go to most other states you don't find this problem. Ultimately, I believe the root cause of this problem is ignorance. And Irvine has an overabundant supply of it.

That is just not true. Littering is a problem all over. In some states you just can't see it because the smog is too damn thick.

Where I grew up it was not a problem. Like I said we had people whose job it was to remove roadside trash/dead animals. They didn't stay on the side of the street till it rotted like it does here. We didn't have smog either. I remember being little and remembering all the dead dogs on the side of the road when we would come and visit. When you are not used to that it was traumatizing enough to where I will never forget. and to be here 30 years later and still have same problem, sad. But if this is all you have ever known then it is normal to you. There is ways of making things better. Now I have given my suggestions, you all have any? Or is it you like the trash and carcuses on the roadside?

My parents taught me better than to throw stuff out on the road. If I had thrown so much as a paper scrap out, they would have stopped and made me pick it up. Probably would have made me clean up that whole bit of roadside, too. Littering is illegal. If you see someone littering... report it. If you don't see them and the litter offends you... pick it up.

Animal carcuses on the road is the responsibility of the owner if it is a pet and the county otherwise. I see more wild animal bits on the road than domesticated. If dead animals are a problem in your area, call the county about it. That's part of what we pay them for.

I just don't see a ton of litter out there. Yes, there is some, but I don't see the massive amounts others talk about. Must be some remote area that I never see.

I must say that the area on 52 near Picnic loop is one painful eyesore, though. An exposed junkpile/dump that is one of the first things that visitors to the county see. Strung out all along the roadside. Now that mess is a shame. Wonder why the people living in that area don't put a stop to it?

And how should those people go about that eyesore? It's on private property and last time I checked there are no zoning laws. So I guess r hands r tied and that will always be the welcome to estill eyesore. It's not just out in the country but there r 2 cats rotting across from Mcdonalds. So u really think the "pet owners" r gonna dispose of their bodies? I know when our dog got hit we got him and buried him but you have to admit just richmond rd alone has lots of pets hit and most r left there to rot. I wonder just how many have been charged with littering? Probably a big fat zero. So obviously the rules in place are not doing a damn thing around here. So it is the road departments job to rid the dead animals?

What if it is a stray animal? Whose responsibility is it then??

Yes, the county should be cleaning up the dead animals. That's what responsible counties do. Go gripe to the county government about it. Find out why it's not being done. You will probably get the standard "no money" excuse, which might be valid because our taxes here are comparatively low. You get what you pay for and we don't pay much here.
