I thought Ravennie had a good mayor. Why did he resign? Was he moving out of the city limits?

Supposedly it had something to do with his health and the length of time he would have to dedicate to treating his illness. Im sure there may be other reasons floating around but That is the reason published in the newspaper. I am willing to say that between City Hall and the people living in Ravenna better get a grip on how the city operates or else it can easily find its self in alot of trouble with the state. You just can't live in a city with the highest insurance tax rate in the state and not provide the taxpayers with Fire and Police protection around the clock, and its not appropriate for Irvine to have to provide that protection.

I wouldn't blame him if he left "just because". I wouldn't want to deal with the "grumpy old men" brigade that somehow got voted in last time either. Why on earth are we voting in people that are only going to gripe and snipe and nitpick at trivial bits of nothing? We should be voting in people with fresh new ideas, not stubborn ol' cusses that have no clue how today's world turns.

Importance like beauty is in the eye of the beholder. However when those in charge allow the unimportant to be the focus there is usually alterior motives in the works. Fact is that a city must operate according to the needs and demands of its citizens in accordance to what is fiscally possible and when the city doesn't have 24 hour fire and police protection but it spends money on other things then the city is clearly not being ran properly. A return to private property rights and a return to providing for the needs of the people is what needs to be done.

I feel sorry for your parents.. Clearly they failed in their job to raise someone that embraced intelligence rather than toilet humor.. But I guess there just wasn't enough love and intelligence sent your way for you to turn out to be anything better.

That is a really stupid conclusion... obviously based on lack of knowledge as to how the real working world operates... which makes it clear that you are the one who does not work.

I happen to be on my lunch break right now. I get multiple breaks throughout the day. I also get oodles of paid days off because... ta da!... I've earned them over many years of sustained employment.

I don't expect a lower life form like you to understand, though. I would feel pity for you... but... checking... nah... not even a twinge.

Actually Mr All Caps, I never said when I started but that I was hired for a job.. I don't even start until next thursday.. Besides working a job doesn't mean that I wouldn't have the time or skill to check on a site like this... Nice try though. Its rude online etiquette to type in all caps.

those grumpy old men as you call them got the tax lowered. Seems to me they don't mess around and get the job done. And think they've only just begun. And lets not forget the deal over the "storage building". Wonder what else the people didn't know about.......

You evidently don't want people that are moral, honest and have character. I know these grumpy old men you refer to and they have more ethical and moral principles than anyone on the council.

If there is any crooked dealings taking place they will be exposed. If we had more people like the grumpy old men there to serve we the people instead of themselves this would be a much better community.

Improvements have been made because of these grumpy old men and there will be more to come.

We finally have some people that will serve the community instead of themselves.

It is time for the back door dealings to be brought out into the open.

I see that the cheerleaders for the "grumpy old men" brigade have arrived. Big whoop... who cares about your brown-nosing opinions? It makes you look like a dummy... for real... it's easy to tell whose pumping the stick that makes your mouth move.

Go ahead and cling to grumpy grampy's droopy pantlegs. If they don't stop trivializing and obsessing over silly crap... then the rest of us will do the heavy lifting and vote the old harpies out next time.

and please correct me if I am But didn't these so called grumpy men lower the rate (and rest of council) by like 2.5%? Now that's what I call taking care of business. To think otherwise is a complete idiot. Why would you want higher rates for? Oh my bad, you're the complete idiot hippie. ungrateful sob. Thanks to the rate going down and those extra dollars in your pocket, you should go THANK those "grumpy old men". Wonder what other shady business has been going on? Maybe the storage building is the tip of the iceburg...
