I do not agree. A parent may do the greatest job in the world raising their child and the child can be influenced to make bad choices by being around or seeing corrupt things. We will never agree on this issue. I believe you must be an atheist or agnostic. I am a christian.

I stated I was an atheist, and I even explained how I was exposed to all this "corruption", yet still turned out just fine because I had active and responsible parents. Religion does nothing to keep children from acting up. If having "Christian values" was all it took then we wouldn't have the largest prison population in the world where 98% of these prisoners are Christians.

I find that odd, don't you? Atheists are amoral heathens, yet the percentage of atheists who commit violent crimes is less than 1% of all violent crimes in the nation. But, I suppose that also speaks to the correlation between intelligence and faith, that correlation being that the odds of being faithful decrease as intelligence goes up. There just aren't many intelligent people out there committing violent crimes.

But wouldn't you agree that, living in a Christian society, believing in no god is just as big of a leap of faith as blindly believing IN one? I see both as respectable.

We don't live in a Christian society, though. The US is not a Christian nation, nor are Christians the majority of the country. Christians are the largest religion in the country, but as far as pure numbers go, they are not the majority of the population of the US.

So, I would have to disagree with you. I don't agree that we live in a Christian society, nor do I believe that disbelief is a leap of faith. By its very nature disbelief cannot be a leap of faith, it's a rejection of faith. It's not that atheists "believe in no god", they reject faith totally, they spend no more time on believing in no god than you spend on believing the sky isn't yellow.

Neither one are true, so any time you spend thinking about it is just time you've wasted.

Ah, if a Christian kills an atheist they don't go to hell because hell isn't real. In all likelihood they go to prison. And, since atheists can be proven to exist not believing in them only makes you a fool.

I exist and I'm an atheist, so I've just proven that atheists exist. Now, you provide concrete proof that your god exists. Don't give me anything faith based or biblical, I want concrete proof.

And, don't tell me the burden is on me to prove he doesn't exist, that's not how proof works. If I say I have an elephant in the trunk of my car, is it up to me to prove I do or to you to prove I don't? That's right, it's up to me to prove that I do.

God is is the elephant in the trunk, prove that he's there.

I dont believe that you are atheist because atheists dont exist. You believe in a elephant god that lives in your trunk. So i guess oxygen doesnt exist be cause you cant see it. It doesnt matter that it is documented, if it can not be seen it doesnt exist.

First, how do you know what look was on Hitler's face as he died? It's unconfirmed what even happened to him after the war.

I don't know about Stalin but it is a misconception that Hitler was an atheist. An atheist wouldn't make comments about Jews being "ungodly wretches". He believed that they were an abomination and by annihilating them, he was doing the Lord's work.

You can google Stalin, but I took the time to google this quote from Hitler's "Mein Kampf"...

"... I am convinced that I am acting as the agent of our Creator. By fighting off the Jews. I am doing the Lord's work."

Nice fictional writing. You can't blame being a loser on your high ethics and morals. Just bc no one would sleep with you does not translate in to your choosing to not to do it.

You can see oxygen, though. If you have a powerful enough microscope you can see the oxygen molecules. Heck, it's powerful enough you can see the individual protons, neutrons, and electrons in the atoms that make up the molecule.
Ya know, you can keep sticking your fingers in your ears going "na na na can't hear you" all you want, but atheists do exist, and there's a lot more of us than you realize. Religion is an antiquated notion who's day has passed.
You guys had a good run, several thousand years of genocide, holy wars, ethnic cleansing, and bloodshed. You can't say it wasn't a good run, but like all things, it's starting to come to an end. We probably won't see the end of religion in our lifetime, but the day is approaching that man will no longer believe in such foolishness.
Again, I ask you to prove that your god exists. Open the trunk and show me the elephant. Let me look at it, touch it, and feel it. As long as you can only base this existence on faith it just doesn't hold water. Faith isn't proof, faith is people saying that even though all evidence points to the contrary they are going to believe it anyway because it makes them feel better to think there's a magic man.
If faith were worth anything at all I could sit here in my house and believe real hard that the sky is green and it would turn green. That's how it works, right? If you believe in someone that's foolish long enough it has to be true. So, I'm going to start right now putting my faith in the fact that the sky is green, let's see what happens.

The sky is green here. I told you there is a god and now you know. If you would have a strong telescope you could have seen God all along.

Hopefully the seeds have been planted. This is completely off topic now. It has become a debate for for some to pipe off about anything to push other peoples buttons. The topic is about kids being unsupervised and not about Retoru's propoganda.

How come it's propaganda if an atheist speaks up about their beliefs, but it's fine and dandy when Christians do the same? It wasn't propaganda when the other person went on about how this is due to not having religion in school, but if I state god isn't real suddenly it is.

Keep one thing in mind, what's good for the goose is good for the gander. Christians run their mouths nonstop about their fictional god to anyone, whether they want to hear it or not. I don't try to force my beliefs down your throat, I simply try to provoke thought. Can you say the same about Christians?

Some of my best friends are atheist. They think outside the box on everything and that is great. They bring up alot of good points and i have seen them frustrate alot of strong christians. I dont force religion on anyone as i believe that something sometime in your life will happen that will make you believe. It is easier not to believe than it is to believe. I enjoy the argument as i know that you wont change my mind and i wont change yours.
